The manager and his players. We don’t need to pick out individual posters, because I’m sure some will share a similar view, there is literally no need for it and it sees the threads degenerate and misses the point completely: the subject is the game and the team.
If we persist with Ian Henderson playing in the midfield area we will be in massive trouble again. To employ him there when we have so many more options available is inexcusable, the blame for that lays at the door of the manager. The lack of passing, tracking runners, making challenges is down to the players. Awful night.
Credit to Barnsley and Moore in particular though, they were as good as any side we’ve seen at Spotland in a very long time. | |

Not there tonight but amazed to see that a Rochdale team so much under the cosh conceded only 7 fouls in the game.
Last season we out fouled our opponents in the majority of games, which frustrated me as we kept giving up possession, but at least it showed there was spirit in the side.
But only 7 fouls in a game of this type suggests a lack of fight. Make no mistake we are in a scap right now and that requires graft and a will to make an impact on the game.
I let others give opinions on the level of spirit shown tonight.
Kieth’s Management will severely tested in the next week. Here’s hoping he can galvanise the troops and they are able to leave this performance behind. | | | |

We didn’t defend well, we looked slow, our ball retention was poor, going long didn’t provide us with anything (Andrew didn’t feed anybody or nobody fed off him (either way it didn’t work - again!!)), we didn’t look like we were going to score all night and, save for Cannon in the first half, we desperately lacked any sort of width. Other than that we played well. | |

Better than anything I saw last season against us. Some of their attacks were a joy to watch (the ones before it went 1-0)

We were outplayed by a team who were far better than us, had better players than we did and they made it count.
No matter what formation, selection or tactics that Keith Hill employed tonight, we would have been soundly beaten.
Sometimes you just have to accept that there are much better teams out there than us. Anyone finishing above Barnsley this season, will be promoted. They were excellent.
For the record, Josh Lillis was complaining about his ribs and lower back when he came off. The physio sent him straight down the tunnel for treatment....... |  |
