Roy Paul is as well, yeah Dean Saunders scored plenty of goals and I would have him in the line up ahead of John Hartson

Best ever Swansea-born XI on 12:56 - Sep 24 with 11353 views | trampie | Neil, Cliff Jones best left winger perhaps in the World, best winger perhaps in Europe but there was a 'little bird' in South America that played on the other wing at round about the same time and he was fantastic.

Put Robbie in midfield, and as Llanelli is closer to civilisation than Tenby, put Wyndham in for Joey. On the bench, Brian Evans was from Aberdare. Surprised there's no room for Herbie, Lennie Allchurch, Nigel Stevenson and Dudley Lewis on the bench either. Ammanford isn't that far away and you could have Dai Davies as backup for Sprake. Mind you Swansea's World Cup keeper Jack Kelsey (Arsenal) would be an option...

Or Russell Coughlan. Would have raised Hell and graced any Swansea born side.

Roy Paul was born in Ton Pentre. Put Tom Kiley in defence* and take out Saunders. John Charles and Trevor Ford in attack would be more than enough for any defence. *I am Paul Clement and I claim my five pounds.

Dai Astley is one that often gets missed, of course the Welsh would possibly have won the World Cup in 1934 if they had entered and he could have been their star player, the British thought they were too good and the winner of the Home Internationals was the best team in the World so no need to enter a fledgling World Cup, Wales were back to back Home nation champions, Astley was putting the English and the others to the sword, for the record England played an international against the newly crowned World Cup winners in Italy in the battle of Highbury and beat them, the Welsh might have won the World cup at the time it was played (England had radically changed their team after the Welsh were dominating but they did so after Wales second consecutive title and the Word Cup). Obviously Wales could have won in 58 also if the best player in the World had not been kicked out of the tournament. [Post edited 29 Sep 2017 8:14]
