flybe Flights from Cardiff to London city available for about £55.

Why attack the poster just for offering some useful information?

£55 isn't much more than you'd spend for a single ticket on a train and the plane lands at London City airport which is only 9 miles from the Emirates.

Most won't want to do it but it's an option.

Personally, I flew from London to Newcastle for last season's match and the aircraft flight was part of the day out.

It's definitely an option while the Severn Tunnel is closed and trains are taking at least 45 minutes longer to get to London.

Probably longer than that on a weekend. Trains are a nightmare at the mo with the Severn works. Flying a good option as I see it.

It's a pity there's no investment in Swansea Airport to make it a viable option for such trips.

Well I'm taking my son on his first proper away trip.

Flight into London, tickets for Arsenal v swansea and train home all for about £80pp and a day he'll never forget.

That sounds absolutely amazing mate and don't listen to anything JBT says he's on record on here as saying he'd rather Wales win than Swansea.

Agreed JBT comes across as very bitter and twisted. OP was simply trying to give some useful advice

Well there was a question on here last year something like "if you could chose one team to win within the next two weeks Swansea or Wales?" and he was the only one out of 1742 that went for Wales.

Flying tends to be more efficient (per passenger) than driving.

I wonder if it would be profitable for someone who's got a passenger plane that could use Fairwood, to offer certain away game (including a return) flights to punters?

Agreed NJ. I hope Martin Morgan gets his project of the ground. Whether the location of Fairwood is the best area is another matter but there is no doubt we need regional airports in Wales to compensate for the almost complete lack of transport infastructure outside of the SE.
If the Yanks make a success of it we could have some justification for an airport to bring our new fans in. Could also link us to other parts of Wales if similar airport projects were in place.
Cardiff Airport. What is the point? There is a better airport in Bristol and most of Wales can't get to Cardiff easily anyway.

I flew from Bristol to Newcastle for the match in April, stayed over the night at my Mum's and flew home the next day. Made it a much more enjoyable weekend. Don't see the problem myself.
