Sunny Majorca. 23:07 - Sep 15 with 2466 views | alwaysblackandwhite | Has anybody been to Majorca in October, i'm about to go for the 1st time and wondering what the weather may be like at that time of the year? In case you're wondering, this is football related because i'm going to miss the Watford game. P.S. Are any pubs/bars likely to show the games? Adios for now.

Sunny Majorca. on 07:49 - Sep 16 with 2222 views | SwaneeRiver | Haven't been in October, but should imagine it will be very pleasant. Always pubs around showing the games. Shouldn't be a problem
Sunny Majorca. on 08:23 - Sep 16 with 2178 views | perchrockjack | No problem with games. Med weather is reliable from late May to mid sept. September sees increase in cloud and possibility of showers. Come October ,chance increases but it ll be warmer than uk. Cyprus , algarve , Costa blanca south more reliable but if you ve booked enjoy as island is beautiful . Suggest hiring a bike and getting into the countryside

Sunny Majorca. on 08:41 - Sep 16 with 2148 views | sherpajacob | Weather will be pleasant, probably akin to the sort of warm day that usually accompanies the FA cup final or the start of the season. All main resorts will have bars showing British football. Enjoy, I love Majorca

Sunny Majorca. on 08:51 - Sep 16 with 2128 views | MoscowJack | I had to comment as I love Mallorca and I'm heading there again myself on Sunday. October will be chillier than the summer months, but you'll still easily get burnt if the sun's out and you haven't got sun cream on. The evenings are chillier so you'll need trousers and a top on. Also, as others have said, it's more likely to rain but there's rarely a lot of rain in Mallorca. It's a stunning island so get out and see the island, even if it's raining. Re. watching the Swans - depends on exactly where you're staying but there are usually loads of bars with the ability to show the game - you probably need to pop into a few beforehand just to check that one of them will show it.

Sunny Majorca. on 09:08 - Sep 16 with 2092 views | union_jack | MaLLorca is a wonderful place. We went last in October a few years back. Stayed in Pollensa in the north and the weather was brilliant. Not boiling hot obviously, but just right. Did have one extremely bad day with rain, thunder and lightning but that was quite a show anyway. The only issue that time of year is that the season is coming to an end and lots of bars / restaurants are getting ready to close down for the winter. They'll be open in October but they tend to run their stock down so not everything will be available on the menu. 'The flip side of that is that there are some good end of season sales in the independents. Have fun.

Flew to Cyprus in April. The airport was the most disorganised I've ever seen. Shame as I was thinking of it as an annual alternative to Egypt, they've pissed on those chips anyway.

Pollensa is one of my favourite holiday destinations - one of the friendliest, calmest places I've been too. Exactly what I'm after when I go away. Reasonable selection of different bars and restaurants for the evenings and stunning beaches during the day

Sunny Majorca. on 21:39 - Sep 16 with 1569 views | legoman | Would highly recommend Valdemossa, Deia and Soller. If you have a car take the mountain drive from Pollensa old town to Soller, its absolutely stunning. Palma is great for a visit too as is old Alcudia.

Not the one that Egyptian 'bomber' went to. Took an hour for the bus to get into the airport car park, loads of people missed flights. 'Luckily' my mother has trouble standing due to a worn out knee and after about 2.5 hours they escorted our 6 past everyone queuing to the front of passport control. Also had to queue alongside the runway when we landed there, for an hour to get into the airport passport control.

Sounds like paphos then. I've been twice with no problems but that's been off peak season. Pity but don't let it put you off . If you can go outside the school holidays the weather is superb from April to the end of October

Paphos airport's not that modern but Larnaka airport's really quite nice. I really like Cyprus, especially the Protaras area. The weather in September is perfect for me and the sea's still warm that time of year. I still prefer Mallorca, mainly because I prefer Spanish food and Spaniards themselves. If I want I can be in a secluded small Spanish retreat but, within 15-20 mins drive, I can be watching Sky TV with an English breakfast. It has something for everyone. All of the island is beautiful so just get out and have a look, if that's what you like doing. My advice to anyone visiting any part of Spain has always been to just drive and try to get lost. That's when you'll find some of the most incredible places that most tourists don't see.

Sunny Majorca. on 14:52 - Sep 17 with 1293 views | Ptpeaty | Been to Cala San Vincente just up from Pollensa a few times late September and mid October. Sun doesn't rise until about 7:30 and sets around same time in the evening. Still very warm but not excessively so. I was able to sit outside the hotel bar until 8:30pm. Good time to go as the crowds won't be there and get in with the right bar, give them a bit of custom before hand and they will probably show a Swans game, especially with the number of Spanish boys playing for us. See you out there first week of October.
