Please never play him at full back again. He doesn't have a clue in that position.

Yet he was 10 times better than Perch!

Not an improvement at all on Perch I'm afraid. He is a very poor defender and imo responsible for the 2nd & 3rd goals due to his really sloppy feeble clearances.

Never a leader in a million years and that's ok as not many are, however this captaincy is clearly affecting his form and needs sorting.
Sandro all day long, very vocal and a dominant personality.

One thing we can say about this current squad is we are relatively arsehole free. Apologies for the jinx.

Having watched Ned this season there is a time when your starting position can actually be too close to the opposing player and he gets pulled out of position too often. I watched the way Sandro hunts down players today and where he starts from and each time his starting position was a few feet off the player and then he just terrified them into mistakes or took the ball straight off them.

Never knowingly right.

I don't think Onouha's a right-back either, however I understand why he was used there on this occasion. We don't have a lot of options, and when you're leaking goals you sometimes turn to people who you feel you can rely on to give 100% to the cause on particulars. In this case, probably to mark tightly and prevent crosses going in and just ensure that tactical orders being asked are acted upon. James Perch probably could have done with a rest as well as he hasn't made the best of starts in terms of form.

Captain material? Yes and no. Yes because Nedum is well respected by the club including his team-mates, has been here a long time, is sensible and mature and sets a good example of what a professional athlete should be. That's why he is captain, because it's about the bigger picture at the moment, and not just the performances or leadership on the pitch. You could argue that he's not the first person you'd think of when it comes to an on-pitch captain (but that's goes for all of our squad), however, I go back to many points I've made, it's about giving opportunity and the platform for people to express and prove themselves. That's going to take time, it's the first-time Onouha has been a captain, and through his conduct at the club, he's earned the right to have a shot at it.

I certainly think he won't shirk his responsibilities on and off the pitch, so in that sense, he is an acceptable and legtimate choice. That's different to whether you think he's actually a good footballer or a good defender. I've always felt he was more of an athlete than a footballer, but he has improved over the years and he's certainly got the attributes to be an excellent defender at this level, and would have been a very good one at a higher level under the right tutelage and parternships.

It's very easy to look at his performances this season and just focus on the last couple of games where he's made some mistakes. Overall, he had a very impressive and solid start to the season, in fact, his performances in the beginning were extremely consistent in a way that made me feel that the captaincy had actually helped him push on and rise to the status.

I'm certainly far more comfortable and happier with him as captain than I ever was with Joey Barton. It's night and day.

He has looked his best when partnered with Hall. This Watford fella has been poor when I've watched him. Bullied in the air in every game and lacking positional sense. I have read that he played well at Hull but have seen nothing from him yet and I stress yet that makes me think he is automatic first choice.

Should have kept Harriman at the club
I said when we signed perch that he wasn't a RB either so at the moment we don't have a specialist right back at the club
I'd keep Furlong at Northampton for now but try and use the loan market to get someone in

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Sorry but I can't agree. Two goals down in the first 10 minutes and the very least I expect from a captain is some handclapping and bawling at team mates. Nothing from Ned.

Our defence is awful. *Puts on Alan Hansen voice* - who is leading the line? Not Ned.

And just before half time Chery was clearly unhappy about his booking and went to argue with the referee after the whistle had gone. Ned walked off to the dressing room.

An articulate voice off the pitch, a good person to put in front of the press but never a leader.

Ned is a good captain. Off the pitch, as an intelligent, sensible person who represents the club.
On the pitch. No. Not nearly vocal enough. But, who, among the regular starters, is?

I would have given it to Green. Not ideal but he is certainly vocal.

Not a big fan of keepers as captains as they can't roam the pitch getting the message across.

Under the circumstances I'd be tempted to return Hill to the fold to provide some much needed leadership and organisation in defence.

From looking at the highlights Ned seemed majorly at fault for Bolton's third. He spooned it miles up in the air and then switched off, actually turning his back and wandering into his more natural position around the centre of defence. Later that same afternoon the ball finally re-enters our atmosphere and goes straight to that Wellington bloke who Ned should have been marking, but Ned is a good 10 yds from him, gives him a good run up, gets turned with ease and they score. Pretty bad stuff.

He's not a right back and he doesn't want to play there. Ramsey needs to make a decision between Hall, Ned and Angella at CB and coach Perch into the player he's supposed to have been at Wigan.

The whole "handclapping and bawling at team-mates" thing is perceptual, because anybody can be seen to do that and pull cotton wool over your eyes that they're "leading". It doesn't mean they'll be respected or listened to and frankly in the modern game, is out of fashion. Leading comes in different forms and different ways — you could argue that David Beckham should never have been made captain of England by Peter Taylor — a strange choice at the time — but one that has since been respected by many over time because he led by example in other ways.

Chery was unhappy about his booking but he approached the referee respectfully at half-time, and Onuoha was in discussions with two or three other players as he walked off the pitch. Not really sure this scenario has any bearing regarding being captain material or not. Even when Fer pushed Chery away after the foul that led to his yellow card was overkill. Chery was stood motionless, just asking the question. He wasn't aggressive in any way but Fer made it look worse than it was.

I think the real debate is whether we have enough leaders on the pitch yet, those who are willing to take responsibility in key moments when under pressure, whether they're captain or not. The jury is still out on that one, we've lots of new players and it will take time for their character to emerge as they settle in.

In recent matches I have seen Onouha talking to his team mates, and I've seen players like Henry and Tozser trying to help organise too. In contrast, I've often seen Austin sulking and his head dropping when things don't quite go his way.

Really you want the captain to be an example both on and off the pitch, and on the pitch, you just want someone with the drive and determination to win, who has a bit of tactical nous about them and understands game management, and who rubs off on his teammates well and is respected by them.

But there are not so many of those players around that tick all those boxes these days and the club have an important cultural change behind the scenes going on, so they need a captain who is going to set an example with regards to standards, professionalism and discipline. That's probably more important in the long-run at this time.

Onuoha is a very likeable and intelligent guy. I have no doubt he's a good captain and ambassador for the club and I don't really care if he's screaming at everyone all game or not. All eleven players should be vocal.

He's the best right-back currently available IMO. Harriman is the best on the club's books.

Isn't Harriman playing as a right winger now?

Apparently Darnell Furlong is getting good reviews at Northampton, maybe he'll get a chance when his loan ends. Theres a definite player in there and I'd like to see the Onouha-Hall CB partnership get a longer run as I thought they looked decent together.

I would sooner my Mum played right back than Perch. I think Ned played well actually and was a big improvement on Perch. However Ramsay still will not drop Rob Green who had a mare for their second goal. So maybe we have to wait for the penny to drop slowly with Chris and he gradually gets round to sorting out Green and Henry.
