Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 00:22 - Sep 17 by johncharles | Henry hasn't changed though. He no better or worse than he's always been. Something else has happened that gives no service to our attack and no protection to our defence. |
TYhe difference is how we are using him, in the premiership we were up against it, he had a very specific job that focused on him sitting deep, covering other players when they were dragged out of position and tracking runners from deep. Now we're not in that situation he's roaming around, he was in the number 10 position on numerous occasions last night - what the fck for?? He's not needed in this league, he wasn't last time and he's not now. As others have said it's not just him at the moment, but I can't see why on earth he continues to play every single game (other than the ones we don't conceded 2 goals for).

Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 13:38 - Sep 17 with 1353 views | stevenagehoop | We have been bullied alot in the last two home games. Henry breaks up play and should also protect the other more gifted midfielders. Luongo and Cherry. Last few matche he has done neither. The position is calling out for Sandro who apart from getting injured last year showed what he was capable of when playing. IF fit he should be in he will not be bullied and has far more ability to his game. However, something tells me that he does not fit into the new regime - I hope I am wrong but what he brings to the table and dare I say it the energy and involvement of one Joey Barton has been sadly missed. Cherry and luongo are both different types of players and whilst they can play they are not tacklers or minders - they need minding.

Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 08:44 - Sep 17 by Discodroids | I may be wrong, but im sure i read on here that Henry is only still at the club because some faceless brainiac on the Board offered him the option of another year on his contract , Which Oliver postgates professor Yaffle himself triggered. As no other offers from commensurate clubs were forthcoming. I sometimes judge a player by who would fight tooth and nail for his signature. i thought the Same of 'RIO' , beau brummels beauty spot and greyfriars . I cant imagine anyone other than rotherham and perhaps huddersfield in the top two divisions who would want him. Whenever i see Henry now and Chris in his post match conferences i think of whispering Bob Harris and his Starkicker. (HOOF!!) |
Given you an up arrow Disco 'cos I wouldn't want anyone to get the idea that I actually liked Hemry.

Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 15:20 - Sep 17 with 1300 views | collegeranger | For those that sit near me in Ellersie they hear my expletive laced rants about Karl the Crab every game. When he was in the prem with Wolves he looked OK - composed, thoughtful and incisive in picking a pass. Wolves are relegated. Now in the Championship according to Wolves fans he is gash. Hurried offloads as he was closed down quickly. Wolves were relegated to League One!! Moves to us in Championship. Looked poor from the outset again closed down quickly errant passes and looked for back passes or a pass across the back 4 rather than going forward. Harold sussed him and was used as a sub or squad player. We get promoted with him largely on the fringes. Last season - due to injuries Karl the crab plays - he looks good at times (begrudgingly) this is down to more space and time on the ball - still too many easy back passes and sideways moves but bloke looks a different player to the one in the championship. We get relegated! This season (can you see a pattern yet) he is gash. Closed down quickly can't pick a forward pass, panics on the ball - delivers close hospital passes to team mates in midfield. Made Toszer look poor last night playing alongside him by heaping unnecessary passes on him. Bloke cant play at this level and needs to go. I believe we were happy to let him go but had to keep him as he exercised the option on another year - not us!
Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 15:58 - Sep 17 with 1262 views | eccles | With Faurlin on the bench, I don't see what Ramsey thinks he gets out of Henry that Ale couldn't provide. At least Ale can pass to a team mate rather than just knock it in the general direction of a hooped shirt. that's two poor games on the bounce for Henry. Be surprised if he gets too many more games especially if Sandro is on his way back. Oh yeah, what the hell's happened to sandro? Surely he must be fit by now?
Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 18:16 - Sep 17 with 1222 views | terryb | Two home games in the last five days & neither Henry or Tozser have made any contribution. Ale Faurlin has played three games = three wins. What more do you need to say apart from play Doughty alongside him! | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 18:29 - Sep 17 with 1216 views | dannyblue | Simmo and Collegeranger have it. Henry is no good for us in the champ. In the championship, especially at home where most of us watch the game, we are one of the better teams and need to go forward. That's not his game. He looked rubbish in the playoff promotion season, and looks rubbish this season. He looked decent last season because we were under the cosh and it suited his game. Henry was made to look even worse by out tactics. The problem yesterday, especially first half, was that we made no triangles. Henry and Toszer stayed deep in a line, and Luongo was playing with Austin as a striker. Chery and Phillips stayed wide. Whenever we got the ball there were no options so it was just lumped long. Second half we were a bit better because one of the midfielders started playing a bit further forward and Chery started to come inside into space between their midfield and attack. Faurlin's genius is always being available for the ball, and always making an angle, so anyone with the ball can find him. Watch him move 5 yards to make the angle after every pass he makes. It's so simple, but it means we can knit some passes together in midfield and get good possession in good places. Without him, in our flat 442, the lack of options just means the ball just ends up with a fullback or the keeper or it's chipped up to their centrebacks.

Henry..why? why? WHY??????? on 20:37 - Sep 17 with 1180 views | derbyhoop | I'm calling Karl 3-touch Henry. 2 touches to control the ball and 1 for a sideways or backward pass. And it should be obvious that Henry and Tozser together just doesn't work.

Great post and exactly right. The genius of Faurlin is his simplicity to pass and move. it also helps that the pass side of things tends to be either that one pass everybody in the ground sees and hopes the player in possession makes, or the one you had no idea was even on until he makes it and then we're in. Absolutely no coincidence that the games we win are the games he plays. Even on one knee he's the best in the league.
