Just announced that the World Cup will be in November / December 2022 with the final on December 23rd. Bloody ridiculous, no Christmas / New Years fixtures that season then.

Just carry on playing domestic fixtures as normal, the big sides will suffer most. We may get a champions league spot that year.
With what's been going down with [certain people] at FIFA over recent years, I wouldn't blame FAs such as ours, the Germans etc, sending the kids out there, and continuing our seasons as normal.

If we're still in the Prem in Nov 2022, it will be our 12th season and if we've continued to evolve as we'd hope to, by then, every one of OUR best 11 could be at the World Cup, not just players from the big boys.

Setting aside the issues of on the face of it the corruption involved of how Qatar won the bid and the employment rights and health and safety conditions of people building the infrastructure. Questionable human rights etc.
Could be something quite exciting. A Winter/Xmas World Cup - certainly something to cheer us all up through winter.
Can be played during time when most European Leagues are having their winter break. Also doesn't knacker players out having to play during June/early July.
Does put pressure on England though as have always said their poor performance is due to such a strenuous league season - then having to play World Cup in Season.
My own view is the season should be structured so there are no International breaks during it - so that club season ends in April and all International matches are played in May. Leaving players recovery time in June and early July - before pre-season starts.

Incompetence of the highest order and the rest of the world follow like sheep and go along with it. All for a few members allegedly trousering some big bungs.
You have mission in life to hold out your hand,
To help the other guy out,
Help your fellow man.
Stan Ridgway
When the premier league stops for the winter it will become a regular occurrence, they've been waiting for a chance to change the fixtures and this will be it, wouldn't be surprised if its brought in the season before too, all the big clubs / players want it and as we know they care very little about the actual fans these days.

It was a joke, don't look to deeply into it.
I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.
I wouldn't wager against the European Leagues and the broadcasting companies looking into what legal challenges they could mount.
If the world cup damages the lucrative brand that is Premier League football then i wouldn't be surprised if they sue for damages especially since Qatar were given the world cup on the basis that it would remain a Summer tournament.
It could all get ugly before 2022.

Lets hope this is the war that ends the reign of the tyrant Blatter
Appalling. Once again we bow to oil money. How the hell did the place get the World Cup in the first place? We can all guess. Let's hope that corruption is discovered and it's taken off them.
It was on the news last night how the workers are living in awful conditions.
I would love to see all the top federations boycott it.

could even be Oct, Nov & Dec, as pointed out on Sky sports news, managers will want to get their squads together a month before the tournament starts.

would've been better just after the Xmas fixtures. At least it probably means more 'summer' fixtures for the club sides. Prem season that year will have to start in July and end the following June

I like midweek games, they are put on at a good time for me to watch live.
I'd be in favour of continuing the PL fixtures during the World Cup (assuming we are still there, if not, I couldn't give a sh1t). We should look at buying more Scottish and Welsh players, as they would be very unlikely to be involved in any finals.
