Just announced that the World Cup will be in November / December 2022 with the final on December 23rd. Bloody ridiculous, no Christmas / New Years fixtures that season then.

If this actually happens, it could be the end of Christmas/New Year fixtures for good. The fans love it because it is one of our traditions, the clubs hate it though. Once they get a year without it, I would bet on a midwinter break coming in the following season. | | | |

I like midweek games, they are put on at a good time for me to watch live.
I'd be in favour of continuing the PL fixtures during the World Cup (assuming we are still there, if not, I couldn't give a sh1t). We should look at buying more Scottish and Welsh players, as they would be very unlikely to be involved in any finals. |
