Southampton Goalkeeper Loan Deal Agreed

Saints are high on quantity, low on Premier League quality and that is not even including Gavin Bazunu in terms of their goalkeeping roster, but now it seems one of the trio currently fit is going out on loan.

Russell Martin has spoken in the past of how one of our goalkeepers has to leave before we get new blood in so hopefully the news report on insidefutbol.com that Mateusz Lis who spent last season at Saints sister club Goztepe is about to go out on loan again could be good news.

Media outlets in Turkey claim that with Goztepe getting promoted back to the Turkish Super League, an agreement has been reached for Lis to return to the Izmir club.

Apparently all the paperwork has been completed and Lis in on his way back to Turkey and will be straight back to his position as number one keeper.

With one keeper gone, hopefully that will signal a new arrival in that department, Alex McCarthy again showed in Wednesday nights friendly against Lazio, that he cannot play with his feet to the standard required and his decision making was also suspect.

McCarthy will be a good back up for the coming season, but to be frank if he is our first choice then we are in trouble.
