Leeds on the list - but not Southampton: Pompey's Championship line-ups confirmed

A Wembley play-off final victory for Southampton over Leeds will have disappointed many fans but pleased some.

Your view will depend on whether you are in the 'Let's get into them, we love a derby' camp or in the 'Happy to avoid them, we'll be stronger the season after next' camp.

It means rivalries with Leeds United will be renewed, Pompey facing the men from Elland in the league for the first time since 2012.

As we reported last week, another trip to the Kassam Stadium is also on the agenda following Oxford United's 2-0 Wembley play-off final win over Bolton.

Bolton will take their place in League One again following a disappointing display under the Arch, which seems to have pleased Pompey fans.

Oxford followed Norwich and West Brom in being confirmed for the 2024-25 Championship - those two sides having lost their play-off semi-finals to Leeds and Southampton respectively.

So the list of confirmed Championship teams: Blackburn, Bristol City, Burnley, Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Hull, Leeds, Luton, Middlesbrough, Millwall, Norwich, Oxford, Plymouth, Pompey, Preston, QPR, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Watford and West Brom.
