Southampton Agree Deal With Burnley But Transfer Has Stalled

According to the latest reports Saints & Burnley have agreed a deal for Manuel Benson, but after doing so the deal has stalled, despite reports that the player is keen to join Southampton.

Yesterday it was being reported in various media outlets that Burnley's Manuel Benson was keen to join Saints and therefore Burnley were biting the bullet and prepared to talk to Saints after getting hot under the collar about the fact that we would not sell Nathan Redmond cheaply to them.

But according to footballleagueworld.co.uk as it stands at the moment the transfer is off due to as of yet not revealed issues.

The report suggests that Southampton had agreed to pay a £1million loan fee to sign the Belgian on loan for the rest of the season, and also cover his wages in full during his time at St Mary's.

However the discussions have hit a hurdle and as it stands it looks like the deal won't go ahead, whether the issues are with Burnley or Benson himself are unclear, but over the past few days most media outlets have been claiming that the player want' to join Saints and that is why the Turf Moor club are backing down from their previous stance.
