| Forum Thread | Liverpool - Cup tickets at 09:16 14 Nov 2024
Just seen an email from the club saying I had limited time to buy up to 4 extra tickets for the Liverpool game, but that the £30 offer ends soon. I didn’t realise that the £30 was an early offer! At £30 to watch a largely changed Saints team against a largely changed Liverpool team, this pricing starting point seems absurd. |

We must be due a 2 weeks away update from the club soon surely? |

Little sign of the club relieving RM of his duties, looks like Solent Toffee is going to get his wish of RM being given the Everton game. |

Just seen some fixtures have moved. Spurs at home is on a Sunday evening at 7pm. What utter gibbon at the club agreed to this! |

Got the train down yesterday as I went to a gig at heartbreakers in the evening. One thing struck me after some discussion on here re the fanzones and the quality of alcoholic beverages in plastic pint pots. I went to O’Neils instead of the painted wagon in the hope of avoiding plastic cups, no luck in there and it tasted awful, tried the pool bar next door - same in there, in fact everywhere bar the mayflower after the game were serving drinks in plastic pint pots. Is there anywhere that uses glasses on match day anymore? Haven’t been to Oxford street since moving my ST. Is it just the top of town that insists on selling drinks in plastic? |
| Forum Thread | Potential points deduction at 07:56 29 May 2024
Do I remember correctly but…. Were Leicester due to have a points deduction for breach of FFP rules for a previous premier league season? Can anyone confirm this or am I imagining this happened? |

It all feels depressingly familiar doesn't it? Rusty is about 3 seasons behind the "bold and BRAVE" tag line The football is still dull. Dull, dull, dull. I can't work out if we started the season ok as there were; 1; players who were desperately hoping for a move away from the club and were trying to put themselves in the shop window and have now reverted to type, or, 2; Losing that quality late in the window (NT, JWP) is the reason and the replacements are no where near good enough. If it is the former then I expect this to continue until early December when there will suddenly be an uptick in form from them just before the window re-opens. I expect another defensive bungle on Saturday to gift Middlesbrough their first win. Kiss my arse Sports Republic. [Post edited 20 Sep 2023 8:12]

| Forum Thread | Annoyingly, it’s still not over at 18:56 14 May 2023
Yes we are down, but there’s still 2 more games to endure. I’m guessing changes won’t take place/announcements won’t be made until the final ball has been kicked. Which is going to make the next two games even more unbearable, as there’s no way this shower of sh1t are going to be suddenly pulling rabbits out of a hat or bunches of roses out of their behinds. How do the club try and salvage anything for the fans with the quality of players we have? We can’t exactly say play the kids as that’s what we’ve been doing all season. Can we get Nathan Jones back for the last two games just for a laugh rather than useless Ruben? I’m assuming we are still paying him? |

If the makers of that have any sense, they’d be all over the spreadsheet mob trying to make us their next project as we’re definitely heading the same way. |

As we slip meekly into the championship I have started to look at whether or not to renew my ST’s. I am seriously toying with the idea of doing some foreign games in the Dutch, Spanish and Italian leagues every 6 weeks (long weekends away) The experience of a day at St Mary’s is akin to going on a works night out with all the people you have to suffer in the work place that you don’t really have much time for. You do it because you need to show your face but know it’s going to be a long night. The idea of traveling over to Rotterdam Friday night on the over night ferry from Harwich, then back again on the Sunday, is starting to look a lot more appealing than Watford at home with zero atmosphere, probably zero goals and a team full of prospects getting bashed up physically. I started to think this a few weeks ago and what would the club do to rectify the malaise of fans next season. If they think freezing ticket prices is going to be the answer then I suspect they are in for a shock. I look at the atmosphere at some of these European leagues and we’ve fallen miles behind them. |

A couple of observations. At the start of the season we started the first few games with 3cb’s and 5 across the back before ditching it. Given Ralphs tinkering, I assumed this was his latest thing. It looks like the computer dweebs running the asylum think this is the way to go after crunching the numbers through their various algorithms. If this is the case, Ralph, I apologise for blaming you for that. When they stated Goztepe were their biggest club, they clearly were referring to 3 years down the line when we’ve been relegated below the blue few. Perhaps SR are trying what the Conservative Party are trying In hoping to get Boris back in charge for the next GE. When the clamour to get rid of your guy becomes too much, replace them with someone so unbelievably bad they’ll be begging you to get their main man back in. |

Lampard next for the push? Just in time for us to play them and get that new manager bounce every club gets? |

It all feels a bit Steve Wigleyesque today to me. Reading about them being given two weeks off given we’d just changed head of football department is absurd, but it also makes perfect sense in saintsworld. Nick said on here recently, you just have to accept football for what it is now. Next season that will probably mean thousands of empty pink hued seats each week to look at for those still attending. Roll on Fulham where I shall enjoy my free pint thanks to the voucher and watching Mitrovic tear us a new one. If the Tory party were running a football club, it would be us.
