We need at least a draw to get things going again so I'd take a 1-2 win.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

And yet those long losing/winning runs go back several seasons to Ollie's last stint, with totally different squads.

Is there something in the water at LR / the training ground??

Well, the training ground is fairly new so we can't attribute it to that.

Perhaps it's related to the calibre of player that we're able to recruit on our budget and therefore the market we shop in. Players who on paper appear to possess quality but in reality lack the required mentality to succeed. Just look at Madsen, for example. On paper, he has all the attributes but in reality he flatters to deceive.

Or maybe it's a side indictment of the modern footballer, many of whom are too rich and too comfortable too young. That's why so many top managers want to know about a player's character. What is he like in the dressing room? Is he a team player? Does he make himself available? Does he demand high standards of himself and others on a consistent basis? Is he up for a scrap? How does he react to setbacks? All of these questions are equally important as can he play.

However effective Chair is perceived to be, he’s still our leading assist maker.

Would be the wrong place to start IMO.

You're missing the point. A fit Chair gets into into my team (albeit on the left) but if he's injured then he's not in the discussion. Ned raised the possibility of Marti reverting to a more pragmatic style. With the team in poor form and still not guaranteed Championship safety, it'll be interesting to see if Marti's hand is turned by Chair's absence.

Totally agree.

In what has been a hugely interrupted season for him, he's still managed 6 goal assists and 2 goals in just 25 games. At this stage, the average is about 6 goal assists amongst his peers in this league, which he has achieved in far fewer games.

For somebody who's viewed by some as underperforming this season, his numbers still compare very favourably and it is a measure of how high a standard that he has set himself, that he is perceived as being less effective/not contributing. Had he played in the majority of league games, his goal assists would be on a par with those players currently heading this particular list.

I'd rather he were around for the remainder of the season, as he is proven at this level, as evidenced by his numbers to date even in an injury-plagued season. Perhaps the focus needs to be directed towards others fulfilling a similar role in the team and have played many more games than Chair this season, yet contributed a lot less and flattered to deceive.

Like I said he's a good player, has done well for us - but if he's back from injury and not performing well then he shouldn't be starting every game.

I'm certainly not critiscing you but can we stop with the knackered comments with these players. They play the same amount as every championship club minus cup games. If anything we're all knackered watching them stroll round for 90 minutes.

With Chair now injured, it’s time to ditch that front 3 and drop Saito and Yang to the bench.
Smyth back on the right side, Anderson on the left and Dembele down the middle.

We need fresh legs and fresh ideas.

I fear Walking Football Jesus isn’t the answer even if he was marginally above his usual level last night.

Last seasons level was very high so you have to give him a chance.

Not really much to say that hasn’t been said.

Frey trying to press their defence, fair play to him for trying but it’s like trying to win an F1 race in a Reliant Robin.

Morgan has been a credit to himself this season but he’s gone from playing 20 games a season in PL2 to 3 game weeks - the kid is knackered and would surely be rested if we could.

Colback and Cook pathetic as the supposed experienced spine - have to hope that they’ve both had enough and don’t want to hang around next year.

Dunne at his best a serviceable stopgap at RB now a complete liability and Paal on the other side repeating the understandable phoning in of a season that neither side wanted to be stuck with.

The saving grace at least is that we aren’t going down but it obviously makes the rest of the season a frustrating throw away

"The saving grace at least is that we aren’t going down."

I wish, I really wish, I had your confidence

For me, one of the most galling things about yesterday's debacle is that Boro weren't even that good. They didn't need to be, though, did they?

Nardi says we never give up, great, but how about we up the intensity and do the basics better *before* we have gone behind? Grrr

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Yeah I agree with Ned that we should probably wait until after the Stoke result before we all think we are down and relegated or not but I’m not as confident as some on here .
Leeds is a bit of a free hit but lose that and we will potentially be 6 points from the dotted line with I think 8 to play (might be wrong on how many games left), on a terrible run of both form and injuries .
Scares the sh*t out of me to be honest .

As long as teams below us keep losing too it means we have less games to need to get a result out of.

Current form table has us 2nd bottom but Oxford (bottom), Stoke, Preston, Plymouth, Cardiff, Norwich(!), Luton & Derby are still not great either and we have to play four of those. Wins would be great (naturally) but even draws are OK as it keeps them at bay. We lose any of those four and yes, it's squeaky bum time.

Good point about draws because if we’d simply selected the right teams, we could possibly have drawn two games this week.

We’d also be prepositions going into the Leeds game and at least have some momentum from performances we could carry.

Felt like we’d lost the last two games before we’d kicked off, yet somehow we were still in both and could have taken points.

It’s only a matter of time before we see Yang and Ashby both on the right, cutting inside together to assist another team.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?
