The club has a stated aim to be a community club, it’s their responsibility to foster meaningful engagement with the supporters group. In other sectors, where community engagement is key, businesses provide funding and capacity building to ensure that local stakeholders are able to be involved in how those businesses deliver their services. This will have to happen at RAFC if we are to fulfill the Ogden objectives and I have absolutely no reason to believe Simon Gauge understands this. His way or no way.

100% correct Gauge has a dim view of the fanbase, which might be seen as antithetical to the stated aims of the Ogdens [Post edited 30 Jan 18:54]

Is it the fanbase as a whole or certain elements and I don't mean those that raise legitimate concerns in a reasonable manner.

I'll echo the panel at tonight's forum: "That's a great question, James" I'm reassured there's sufficient high class input from the Ogden side into the boardroom that the co-chairmanship won't be detrimental to the future of Dale

I'm reassured the Ogdens, and their representatives, wouldn't allow anything detrimental to get in the way of their investment and vision for the club [Post edited 30 Jan 22:38]

I can understand that sentiment but then why allow the incompetence of the last few months to occur ,it doesnt add up ,why P--s so many home and away fans off when it was so easy just to explain the circumstances whether you agreed with them or not.

The last few days... a "watershed" moment, perhaps

The voice of the fan in the boardroom on 23:04 - Jan 30 with 1830 views | 442Dale | We heard an important word tonight: Culture. Those who don’t get it will be left behind. Those who pretend they get it will be found out. Those who say it and don’t emphasise it to ensure change will know it won’t be forgotten. Time will tell.

That's the most heartening post i've seen on this forum for a very long time. The fact that you composed it adds even more weight to it and must give us all hope going forward. Thanks for posting. Unfortunately i don't have the mental capacity at the moment to allow myself to get involved with fans forums there are more pressing matters (family illness), the fog will clear though soon, it always does. Thanks to everybody who made the effort to turn up and pose the questions it's much appreciated. I wish i could have attended but I'll watch it back later today. [Post edited 31 Jan 6:39]

Really hope things turn out for the better with your family You're a real asset to Dale and there could be a role that'd suit you down to the ground when things are settled

Thanks for the best wishes, it's all part of life's rich tapestry isn't it. I'd do anything to help the club but it would have to be alongside people all pulling in the same direction. It would also have to be well away from the likes of Simon Gauge and Tony Pockney, i don't like them and hopefully they feel the same way about me. [Post edited 31 Jan 9:08]

The voice of the fan in the boardroom on 10:38 - Jan 31 with 889 views | 49thseason | Thought it was an interesting evening, the pitch debacle was explained and steps taken to ameliorate the situation going forwards and which will help in the future. I am also pleased that there has been a recognition that they need a stronger management team and intend to add a manager for matters connected to the stadium including the pitch... The Ogdens seem to be getting a grip on what is needed and their representative on the night, Jamie Willoughby, presented a professional and measured view of the next steps. Clearly they will not simply throw money around but equally it feels as if they will not allow a downwards spiral to start again for the sake of a few quid either. They have a long term plan and the occasional hiccup will be sorted out. Whilst the Trust is still very much in their thoughts, they have recognised that they need to embrace the wider fanbase and userbase too and the creation of a new vehicle to do that is to be welcomed. I think most people left the meeting with a more optimistic outlook than perhaps they had on arrival.
