ronaldtheranger added 15:37 - Oct 1 At last the enjoyment of being at Loftus Road and seeing a more confident display and a couple of deserved goals. The second certainly helped us play to our best. However, against hte top sides, I think we will have to do better. There was plenty of possession in the middle of the park, but not enough incisive break throughs on goal. Some would say that better promotion prospects would have scored 4 or 5..., so why didn't we - against a very poor Boro side. tsbains64 added 09:29 - Oct 6 After the prevoius weeks highs-we came down to earth with a gentle bump. Yes we won got the points and scored some goals but it was not done the way I was hoping it would be achieved Some one said we have a team of midfeilders-it some it up A boring first half with a smattering of chances-second half cahnged with Juniors introduction but still felt a bit dissapointed with the show Barnsley werenot too bad but dont have a cutting edge up front-it will be interesting to see what we do when we meet a team that does have a sharp striker I reassured myself that the most improtant thing is to win ,score goals and saty top of the league Well doen Greeno for your record-Defence were great but not really tested. Comeptent midfeild with no one showing any creativity and Austin was valiant up front francisbowles added 09:59 - Oct 6 A tight game of few chances. Barnsley defended very well and played a very high line which restricted the space in midfield. Nevertheless, our midfield passed the ball around very well and Carol and Faurlin were excellent. The best Ali has played since his injury. Butland made three excellent first half saves which otherwise may have opened the game up for us. The fullbacks didn't get forward as much as in the previous match and we lacked any real pace to get in behind their back four. Hoilett was the obvious tactical change and it had the desired result. Think this is the sensible thing to do with Hoilett for at least the next three away matches as we will need to be solid, maintain possession, he is fragile and we don't have any other fit wingers. Coming on and making an impact will help his confidence as well. Good to see Charlie scoring a proper goal and the defence record as well! Bulgarian added 17:05 - Oct 6 So important in terms of our process of going places and maturing as a team: keeping tight, trying to hold concentration and ruthlessly exploit our chances. Today it worked, a big thanks to Boruc and the defensive department. We still lack the extra creativity up front though. Royboy48 added 18:43 - Oct 6 Well it's another 3 points but I still have this nagging doubt that we are not yet singing at concert pitch Plus points? Carroll greatly improved, Austin hard working and effective - really warming to him; right to be patient Negatives? BAE and Hoillett looked too casual for me, Kranscar average compared to last week, central defence - whisper it - looked occasionally shaky. But that's being really picky 3 straight away games to come will be the acid test - inc. the league leaders in the frozen North Would play Henry and Faurlin in the defensive midfield roles keeping Hoilett and Carroll as impact pacey subs when O Neill runs out of puff No game at W12 for a month - when we entertain McLaren's undoubtedly rejuvenated Derby followed by another tricky away day at Reading Wouldn't tamper with anything else - need to pick up 5 pts from these 3 games Am I right in thinking that 40 years ago Burnley and QPR finished 1st and second in this division? 2 years after that promotion we missed out on the big title by a whisker. Repeat prescription please.. johnpaulqpr added 00:33 - Oct 8 Yes you are right about qpr and Burnley, I saw the home game which we won 2-nil, I am sure Dave Thomas scored that day against his old club. pnc4eva1 added 18:52 - Oct 12 Harbour added 09:45 - Oct 20 first visit the new den for me. getting in no problems other than train delays at London bridge... staggering number of coppers in the walkway leading to the ground. we were the better side throughout and when nico hit the post first half very unlucky. but 2 poor defensive errors cost us dearly and the last 10 minutes we seemed to switch off and for that wall got a point..nico, austin excellent ..glad HR is still trying to get the team to play patient passing football just need a bit more fluidity and movement overall a good point ...which could have been 3 .... getting out held back 20 minutes could not get on the train and coppers made us get on train going opposite direction got off next stop then at South Bermondsey a load of Wall fans got on thankfully 3 next to me were friendly chatty sort ! LostBoys added 19:38 - Oct 20 I thought we played well and should have won. A view shared by some of the more intelligent Man U supporters in the bar after the game. Some of their players performances were very poor led by Carrick and Nani Evra and the funny little brazilian bloke who has a brother as a worse player. The quality up the front for them shone through with Van Persie and Janusaj and particularly Rooney who put a real shift in. Loads of highlights but I loved Spidermans tackle on Bambi Welbeck. Beware Man U have got their eyes on a number of our players accoprding to their fanzines. Great weekend away LostBoys added 19:46 - Oct 20 Sorry I forgot - what rubbish fans Man U has - totally spoiled on success and poor support for their team who were being played off the park at times.
