Not a bad position to be in. Excellent contributions by Atkinson and Bethell shows the selectors might know what they are on about. Carse has also contributed again. I read an article saying that county red ball matches are often played on pitches at the edges of the square with often give a really short boundary which is not conducive to fast bowling. With three days to go just keep batting and wear the pitch a bit more. |

It was just over 3600 so about half the given away tickets were used. I found it really strange. The game had less intensity than a pre season friendly and you know Jim wasn't arsed when he took Henderson off at half time. At least the likes of Edwards and some of the fringe players had some game time. |

The obvious area is wide players, especially as Burger and Rodney have been playing the wide forward role. EEL, Hogan, Ferguson and Sassi also looks a bit heavy on numbers, the more so with only playing one central defender. |

We do need cover at right wing back, especially if Tobi is going to be out for much longer. I assume that Dennis is a central striker, who could spell Mitchell. Having a few more bodies will help to cover the cup competition as well. |

I suspect that we are lumbered with a not fit for purpose ticketing system due to the previous regime agreeing another wonderful contract. It is rubbish. I tried to buy mine and my son's ticket for the Bromley game and I couldn't do it as one transaction. To be fair and from my experience, this has always been the case, the ladies in the ticket office were excellent and addressed the issue. |

I agree about the league. There is no outstanding team, so why not us. Jim, what do you need and how much would it cost? |

There is a player in there and he does work hard. What really impressed me was when he switched over to the right in an effort to nullify Oluwabori who was a real handful all game, he stuck to hsi defensive duties, which is probably something he does not enjoy as much as going forward. He was knackered when he went off. Burger also had a really good game, I like the way he looked to run with the ball in central areas, almost in a way we have not seen since Oli Rathbone. He is definitely improving and looks better in that central role, which he has almost been forced into due to injuries. You could say that last night was the best victory of the season. Halifax dominated for the first 30 minutes, Robson made a cracking save, which you could argue was the catalyst for an improved last 60 minutes. We defended pretty well, bar their goal and the player's heads did not go down when they scored. The second goal was a lovely one. Injuries have started to bite but we are in a decent position and hopefully in a few weeks we will start to get some players back. If we are in a decent position in January will the owners splash the cash to bring in a couple of quality players? |

Great news. A top bloke, who was much underrated and often messed about in the quest for better, which often did not materialise. Getting dropped for Magnus Norman was a real low point. |

An absolutely brilliant victory. To get 20 wickets on that pitch is amazing, especially when Pakistan's much vaunted attack managed 7 and a few of them were due to chasing a few late runs. Stokes might be back for the next test, which offers an interesting dilema as to who to leave out. The match is being played at the same ground, but hopefully on a better pitch. |

They didn't do too bad did they and even declared before tea. Probably three wickets away from victory as I doubt Ahmed will bat after being in hospital. Again the pitch has not really done much and half of their wickets to fall have been down to poor shots. |

That's what I mean. It is implausible, but the pitch is that flat that it is not impossible. We lost two wickets all day, which scoring at near enough five an over. One of those to a poor shot and the other to a misjudgement. You could have counted the number of 'good balls' on one hand. |

If we can get a lead of 200+ it might be game on. Pakistan recently collapsed in their second innings against Bangladesh in a similar situation. I'm not sure the pitch is, or will rapidly deteriorate though. |

I am really surprised that Jim did not throw his players under a bus by having a go at them to a random supporter, which could have then been plastered over the forum and/or social media if the supporter was that way inclinded (not saying that you are). What was said behind closed doors may be a different matter. Jim will always support his players in the public arena and rightly so. Kyron Gordon has already posted about the game on X and he is obviously gutted. He has had a good season and one game should not tar his achievements so far. I think as well that as supporters we need to be a bit more forgiving. We are playing in the fifth tier of English football and as long as the effort is consistent there will be inconsistencies in performances and errors a long the way. |

In his home appearances he has worked hard, but nothing really has come off. It is a good opportunity for him to start today and make and impact. It is good to see Henry back. |

In our system Barlow is more suited to the role McBride and Rodney are playing. It was telling that Edwards was on the bench ahead of him. We are a bit overloaded with wide forwards. |

A win is a win. Not great but if we are chasing a spot in the top 7 then these are the games we need to win. McNichols played well but bar the goal and a few chances from set pieces we didn't create much. I thought we missed another central midfielder. Burger tried but hopefully Henry is back next week and that longer term Gilmour isn't injured for too long. |
