One big situation is that all those players who left Saints are richer by far than they would be if they stayed with our club. However in footballing terms you are absolutely right their game may have been better had they stayed.
In Chamberlins situation I am certain he would not walk into a Premiership side, I doubt that he is good enough. Yes, it also appears that some clubs will buy to harvest young promising players and this is something that will get worse if things remain as they are.
The question to the player is, would you grab instant wealth at the risk of losing your future prospects?. When one considers that a single bad injury could end a players career the answer does seem obvious. |

AP was on Premiership wages with a transfer kitty which was the envy of the rest of the division. Players on wages which other clubs could not equal yet as Pinner states results have not been delivered. We have begun this season with a team most realise is not as good as what we had at the end of last season there lies AP's problem.
Football is a sport which prospers on greed and as long as the carrot is big enough managers will queue to fill AP's boots. AP will in all probability have his contract paid up so he won't be too unhappy. |

Remember last season when AP had just taken over. His big complaint was that he had to spend too much time on the telephone talking transfers instead of coaching.
This was the reason he stated that he would not object to a director of football to relieve him of thiat problem

The problem is that fans in England want instant success for their clubs. There is not a single Saints fan who would accept relegation to the third tier of football if it were to benefit the English national side. Neither do the fans give a toss as to the nationality of their clubs players if it is bringing club success. |
