As far as chairman of the club is concerned he is giving the impression of being out of his depth standing in a puddle.

Hell during the game as well and in good teams it wouldn't be just them doing it.

I think Grimes is a good club captain but I think that it needs a more forceful personality on the pitch to captain this side, if there is one. Irrespective of what players may think of Williams and his tactics and it feeling like Groundhog Day, on the pitch it needs someone to drag them out of their lethargy and losing mentality.

A good coach makes players better and creates a team that is better than just looking at the individual players.

A poor one does the opposite.

A practical coach may want to play a certain way but realises if he doesn't have the players to play that way he needs to play to the strengths of the players that he has, taking account the quality of the opposition he is playing against.

For example Martin had a squad of players at Southampton that were better than most opponents in the championship and his system got them promoted. Up a division and the players couldn't do it against better opposition. However Martin persisted with his system and the team was easy to play against and gave goals away. It is too late to turn that team around.

Williams tactics are being found out in the championship with our squad and, like Martin, he seems incapable of changing. The team lacks confidence is easy to play against and makes errors leading to goals. The squad needs strengthening but the tactics make us far worse than we should be.

We need to change the way we are playing, the players can't play it and I don't think that they believe in what Williams and his coaches want them to do. Williams won't change, he just blames the players, therefore he has to go before it is too late.

6-0 at Darlington was not a bundle of laughs. Watched us lose at Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Carlisle, Leeds, Hull, Norwich, Plymouth, Brighton, Southampton and seen hammerings at both Sheffield clubs and Portsmouth. I saw us lose at a lot of other grounds as well.

On the plus side saw us win at Ipswich, Preston and Bournemouth and from memory drew at Hartlepool and Gillingham.

A lot of the time I'd go in hope rather than any expectation. Nobody forced me to go.

Possession with pace and a purpose rather than slow possession and laboured passing.

The team is low on confidence and plays as if it doesn't believe in Williams tactics and set up.As you point out players are going backwards not improving and that is a damning indictment of Williams and his coaching team.

The squad is short of quality and depth but Williams and his tactics are not getting the best out of them.

He had a prolific goal scorer and a winger that provided an incredible amount of assists to cover deficiencies at Notts County, let alone playing at a lower level.

Here he has neither and is playing better teams. Unfortunately the emperor is shown not to be wearing any clothes and by the way they play the squad know it as well.

Ronald ? Is it all his fault ?

Surely a manager should set up a team up to play to the squads strengths not their weaknesses?

This is real life not fantasy football.

Martin was found out at a higher level with kamikaze playing out from the back where the opposition had better quality to punish errors when doing so.

Any system has its weakness as well as strengths and managers know how a mid block and quick counter attack can cause mayhem with our ever so slow attempts to switch the point of attack. When the block is poor and we play through it we look great. Other times we are so easy to play against that teams that are no great shakes can do it with ease.

In my view it isn't Ronald's fault that he has gone backwards. It is down to the coaching. Eom gets similar grief but I don't think he has adapted to the physical side of the championship and needs help from the coaching staff and other areas.

Swansea City : Sorry Luke, but this simply isn’t working
at 20:29 18 Jan 2025

He must feel that the result and performance today on top of other equally bad results and performances will mean that he won't be in charge next season. Which is why he probably had a go at the players before having a good look at himself in the mirror.

Big boardroom decisions ahead and only they know what our finances are.

When we've easily beaten poor Cardiff teams, they looked a beaten side from the outset. That was us today.

Confidence in what they are doing and in the manager looked shot. No excuse for not turning up, but putting it all on the players in public is not the way forward.

Post match comments from Williams - basically the players bottled the derby game. Throwing them under the bus again. I wonder how many would like to throw him under the bus?

" I feel very disappointed that we started the game fine and then the performances just evaporate, fall off the edge of a cliff. That's really upsetting, really worrying. I believe it's the occasion.

"We have failed to perform at a consistent level but today, the stark change in our performance from probably half an hour in, we started to lose a grip of the game, we started to give away a lot of corners and free-kicks and then we suffered so badly.

"So many players suffered so badly and got worse as the game went on… I imagine it's a lot of to do with the atmosphere. I think the opposition could feel that and did a brilliant job to heap pressure on us when we felt weak."

The squad is weak in midfield and up front. That isn't down to Williams, but what he is doing with them is. Players seem to be going backwards rather than improving.

If losing the dressing room means that the players are following his tactics but play like they don't believe in them because they are not working, then I believe he has lost the dressing room.

In which case it is time to go.

Only reason is the transfer window. Difficult to encourage players to come here with no manager, although probably equally difficult to encourage them when they know the manager is on borrowed time.
