What was excellent last night was the wonderful vision of a pass Taylor showed when he played just behind the front line and the work rate even though we played the final minutes against ten of the team to ensure the result It’s not coincidental that work off the ball has improved a team spirit of all for one and one for all mentality.

Dobra, came on for Sprites last night and Welch - Hayes on bench for Maidenhead against the Iron .

Edgy game for the U’s who never got control, but only in brief snippets. Gordon looking more settled playing at this level than at the start of the season. Injury to subbed Read and together with Bishop is starting to leave the midfield a bit thin on the ground, but dropping Payne back and bringing on Taylor and Tovide made us look more proactive. Game should have been over, but the introduction of former U’s player Dobra gave them a more cutting edge upfront.
Yet another ground covering game for McDonnell, wonder how many mlles he covers in ninety minutes.
Decent and well earn’t three points,

Gordon had his best game so far. However DC trusts a player he knows, who without the ball will track back and fill the space behind , Anderson gives that when fit .
The squad this season has been more proactive in regaining possession than that of the past. Work off the ball is just has vital has having the ball .
Has the league position states, we are in a better places from several seasons because of the above and strangely we now have the unfamiliar situation of hoping lower sides nick points from those in the top positions ! [Post edited 24 Feb 9:01]

Hard earnt point today. Always were going to be a threat with two decent strikers up top. Very physical side who don’t let you pass. Up till the goal defence had been first to the ball, but should have been level before. Visitors will in the mix come the end of the season and we more than give them a game. Showed good team spirit by conceding for the second game running but end up sharing the spoils.

Pip Boyland who was on the coaching staff of Brightlingsea Regent has moved to M & T .
Sadly Teddy Collis who at the start of the season had a U’s U21 trial and signed for M&T , has left Regent for Needham Market . Undoubtedly can play at a higher level, had a good eye on a goal, think the U’s have missed out there. Incidently another Regent player was a trailist at the Tractors recent U21 game . |

Good point, considering conceding a goal early on, but could have been much more as wasteful in front of goal.
County were all over PVale last game . Shows we can be competitive with the top sides in this division . Must win home games now has a standard.
