A week on Sunday, Mrs Superhoops is running the Berlin marathon. Don't worry this is not a sponsorship request, you guys were brilliant when she did the London earlier in the year. What I do want however are some tips around Berlin. Never been and don't have a clue about the city. We are staying in a hotel in Alexanderplatz. Mrs Superhoops travel is free all weekend and I have purchased a 5 day pass. We are flying into the main airport from City Airport. After that I don't have a clue. Places to eat, things to see while we are there would be really welcome please. Pubs etc are pretty useless until at least Sunday night so wouldn't worry about them either sadly. Any help, tips etc would be much appreciated please. [Post edited 17 Sep 9:46]

I know we talked about the Daley Thompson documentary, but last nights one about a local boy Linford Christie, is superb and well worth a watch. How he dealt with the drugs cheat Ben Johnson, his own drugs test failure and also before he was a household name when he was incorrectly arrested for theft of a motor vehicle. Be warned though, Colin Hart is just as horrible in this as he was in the Daley one!! |

Reaching out to LFW people who have an electric car as we have just placed an order for a Hyundai Kona and need some advice regarding home charger. We are with British Gas, and they have a deal that if we have an installation with them we get a years free home charging (Hive installation I believe) but if anyone has any better advice I would really appreciate it. TIA |

So now we are safe and looking forward to being able to enjoy not just the next game but a whole week in the lead up, time for a little fun. Let’s open up the LFW Confession Box – Its time to admit whether you thought we would be safe, relegated or if you are L-Block thought we would be relegated by Christmas (Just kidding mate) – At what point did your opinions change etc throughout the season. I know there were many that dreaded this season even before it had started, and the first game didn’t nothing to settle that. I’ll start the ball rolling. As many know, I was quite vocal at the start of the season and confess to jumping all over people who thought we were going to be relegated before the season had even started. Just before Gareth went, I was very nervous that I was going to have to eat my words because we were all over the place – 6 in a row and I decided I was wrong - League 1 was beckoning. The game that turned my opinion and made me think we could do it, was the away win to Blackburn. We had been shocking in January and I don’t recall us ever winning up there despite supporting the Rrrr’s for almost 50 years. After that, we seemed to stop conceding from set pieces and defending better and apart from having a minor wobble after Easter was relatively sure we would survive. So come on, cleanse your souls and lets hear your thoughts and emotions over the season and did your opinion on the outcome change. |

With the football season coming to a close in a months time, some here will turn their attention to the smell of freshly mown grass and long days sat in the hot sunny weather watching the great game of cricket. As a member of Kent Cricket Club, I got to enjoy my first match of the season against Somerset at Canterbury over the last few days. Unfortunately, as is always the way starting the season this early, the first day was lost to rain. In fact nearly all the games were affected by rain, some without a ball even being bowled. But I did manage to get to see 2 centurions at Canterbury yesterday and a very enjoyable day of cricket (even if I did get sun burned head - Yes I know should have taken a cap). Did anyone else get to see cricket over the last few days? I know we have several Middlesex supporters who no doubt enjoyed the 'runfest' at Lords (over 1300 runs I believe) |
| Forum Thread | Humble at 13:57 7 Apr 2024
I've not read all the posts on here since yesterdays defeat, but I was as disappointed as most on here at yesterdays performance. The reality is though, 3 games over the space of 8 days and we took 6 points and lets be honest no one thought we would get 3 of those at Swansea. Our recent record has as I have said several times pulled us free of the relegation zone and more importantly meant that our destiny is still in our own hands. So come on, as our great leader (cannot believe there is a post questioning his ability) would say, lets stay positive, but more importantly remain humble. Yesterday was an awful day at the office and rather than have a week to dwell on it, the team can put it right on Tuesday evening. Let HUMBLE be the word of the week |

Hi Everyone I appreciate there have been several appeals for sponsorship over the last month and all for worthy causes. However, Mrs Superhoop is running the 2024 London Marathon this year. She received a ballot place and heard she had been successful on the day her Mum was diagnosed with cancer. Her Mum passed away a few months later and she has decided to split her charity efforts between the local cancer hospice that cared for her Mum in the last few weeks and also a Cat rescue that her Mum and us have supported for several years. I know times are tough but if you do find any coins down the back of the sofa you could spare, she would be most grateful. Some of you may know her from the happy band of QPR runners as she too is a hoops supporter. Thank you for reading and if nothing else, feel free to read her story and how the training is going on the link. P.S Clive if you could pin this for a bit as discussed, I would be most grateful. TIA. https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/michelles-running-the-london-marath |

Hilarious - that said since discovered it was a private coach nothing to do with Leeds - so epic fail on his part [Post edited 29 Feb 21:57]

That's 7 points from a possible 9. That's pretty solid going and surely a sign that MC is getting this side turning the corner And to add to his CV the first QPR manager since 1999 to beat Blackburn at Ewood Park |

Downloaded a good football documentary today on Sky documentaries and its on at 9pm tonight, well worth a watch. Called Stasi FC and features a team in East Germany prior to the wall coming down. As long as you dont mind subtitles its very good Oh and no immature schoolboy sniggering at the Dresden Strikers name |
