Best debut goal
at 12:39 28 Nov 2024

Greetings from Uzbekistan! 🇺🇿
Whilst it’s been a while coming what a way to get off the mark.
So as way off celebration, I’m sitting in a bar in Tashkent called, of all things,
Hammersmith and recalling the best get off the mark finishes.
The only criteria, is the player has to have scored more than once for the club.
So Pizanti and Brazier etc aren’t acceptable.
Andy Gray against Man Utd springs to mind.
Off you go…..

You're in luck Ted, well sort of....

Raspberry Blonde are playing at The Forester in West Ealing on Saturday 23rd November after the Stoke home game due to unpopular demand and either playing or in attendance are most of the nutters you've mentioned........

GEORGE GRISTWOOD RIP
at 14:59 18 Oct 2024

Sadly George has passed away at the age of 94.
The term 'legend' is used all too frequently nowadays, however in terms of supporting our team, I would suggest that the term is appropriate here.
Home and away with Rangers and England almost his entire life, undeterred by the coach journey to Sunderland on a January evening even into his 80's his passion never waned.
He would recall matches from during the war, some even pre-war, and the promotion sealing trips to Bournemouth in 1948 and Villa in 1968 amongst the more obvious ones, including all the games at Wembley in 1966.
The QPR LSA awarded him supporter of the year in 2015, although frankly he could have been nominated every season.

The picture shows George on the left with another R, Bill, his older brother who left us earlier in the year.

The end of an era.

I haven't trawled the ocean floor for differing R's opinions elsewhere for many a moon and find that there really aren't that many any more.
Clearly Ciive is the Oracle, but healthy competition and all that can't be a bad thing even if we're not competing against each other?

Actually, as I polish off the last of this Margaux, most of them were amateur even in the heyday of giving out unfounded abuse.

Bordeaux go bust
at 03:52 27 Jul 2024

The thing is they had a pretty big ground, used in WC '98, before moving to the new one.
Saw them at home last December, lots of in fighting between the fans, who frequent different parts of the stadium.
The year before they somehow naused up promotion that caused near riots, Barbet, captain and player of the season I think, had to help quell the supporters anger.
As was mentioned earlier, like Schalke 04, not a small club, but Schalke even when shi t in Bundesliga 2 still get 60,000.

WTF is a head of methodology?
at 03:30 27 Jul 2024

On the face of it we're all, rightly, more optimistic than this time last year.
However, slap yourself hard and remember this is Queen's Park Rangers FC.
The most positive thing to happen to us in the next few weeks would be Eze signing for a
Saudi side for a world record fee freeing up wonga for us to sign the best finisher available outside of the European top divisions along with a disgraced Rodri opting to do community service at a the club he's loved ever since he saw Ale Faurlin's left peg when a teenager.
Marti instilled self belief into the team last season and we're buying into it, yet more quality is still needed if we're to compete in the top half.
There's big positivity amongst us all, great support towards the end of last season carried on now with f ucking the away followers out of the bottom tier for this campaign, I just hope we can achieve what our bravado encourages.

So.....
off the top of my drunken head
only Brown, Purple and variations such as Burgundy, Lilac, Lime Green and Dulux Cocoa Butter to go then we've had 'em all.
Personally I would opt for Peru '78 and Borussia Monchengladbach '74 but then I'm full of alcohol and nostalgia.

It will sell in large numbers though.

Nope, been shut for years, they still haven't finished the flats there though.

The Black Horse in Greenford has been shut for 18 months now, it still hurts when I pass by.
If my crypto investments come in I will become the new owner, and will bar anyone who's jib I do not care for. Just like it used to be.
It will also be renamed as 'Brian Williams beard'.

D-Day
at 02:40 6 Jun 2024

Although D-Day is rightly remembered, it always seems to over shadow other massively important campaigns with enormous loss of life, notably from our side, the Monte Cassino/Gustav Line stalemate and the lack of recognition of incomprehensible Soviet suffering, which from turning the tide at Stalingrad, then repelling the Nazi counter attack at Kursk meant that by June '44 the Red Army, facing 75% of German forces, were entering Poland and would have continued possibly all the way to the Channel, had Stalin, in a moment of rare humanity for his own people, not insisted on the opening of a new front.
In saying this, it was an amazing achievement, our subterfuge worked, as once the Germans had regrouped, the inland Normandy action was far more brutal, if Rommel's extra Panzer divisions had been deployed earlier, our troops would have struggled to get off the beaches.
Brave? They all were, both sides. {Except the Vichy French

General Election Thread
at 03:44 31 May 2024

Having just spent a while reading all the posts on this thread, many eloquent, salient comments and surprisingly non-aggressive statements on a subject matter that is, whether one likes it or not, is incredibly important to our everyday lives unless you're domiciled on a tax haven in St Kitts, I'm now telling it as it is.
If you believe that the Tories have delivered anything, even remotely fair to the majority of people in this country then you're wrong.
Can you honestly, in your heart of hearts, put an X in the box of your local Conservative candidate and believe that it's in your best interest?
Johnson, Truss, Sunak, really? Touch your forelock peasants and be happy with the defunding of all the privileges that make our lives even remotely bearable.
Starmer's Labour will win of course, barring a major national aneurism, more acceptable, not by much, soon to discover that victory comes with the realisation that not much can be changed for the better without gigantic borrowing from the American Empire, funded by the Chinese, built on sand.
Now for the part where I make more enemies, as if I care, because I have no more alcohol to hand without going down to the all night garage.
No Church, no Conservatives and no Fulham Broadway. Ever. The latter is actually far more important.
Someone kick Michael Gove, Toby Young and Nadine Dorries in the kunt as well.....

That's an amazing comeback by Bochum, Union Berlin sent them into the play offs by scoring in injury time and it wasn't until I read this that I realised that Dusseldorf had naused it up!
Half of the stadia being used next month are homes to Bundesliga 2 sides, and this is without Hannover, Kaiserslautern and Nuremburg all used in WC 2006.
Hamburg, Schalke etc are huge clubs but effing awful lately, it's good for football, especially as Bayern won bug ger all this season.

Player of the season nominees
at 02:07 15 May 2024

Now we're all relaxed about not having to visit Shrewsbury et al next season, and having watched Phil Foden wearing a Superman cape at Spurs earlier, I thought I'd take a look at the other contenders, even though he would get my vote.
Odegaard, great player, but no Rodri?
Are you kidding? The first player on the team sheet for a Premier League XI for me , does no-one else see this?
