| Forum Reply | Jack Stephens Deserves Saints Fans Respect At This Time at 20:39 2 Oct 2024
The point is that we all know that he should not be in the team let alone Captain, but if that is what Russell Martin wants to do, the player is hardly going to say no. Yes probably he was initially pleased, but he has now realised that he is not the man for the job and is seen as being part of the problem with the manager. My main point though is that as a loyal player to the club, he deserves some respect and not the cliched abuse he is getting from all sides it seems. |

Not one of the posts on this thread actually seem to relate to the actual article itself and the thinking behind it, the article wasn't about whether Jack Stephens should be stripped of the Captaincy, it was about how a loyal servant of the club had been hung out to dry by the manager. But it seems no one cares, if the name Jack Stephens is in the title its a good reason to slag him off. Its not as if Jack is the first Saints player to abuse a referee, David Prutton physically assaulted a referee which was much more than Stephens did |

If someone comes in they gat a free hit, no one is going to blame then for defeat |

Clearly some sort of issue between him and Martin, the manager likes 100% loyalty hence Jack Stephens is first name on the team sheet and KWP and ABK are left out |

It has been in the media just what Jack Stephens said to the referee after he had been shown the red card, he apparently called him a “f------ little c---” |
| Forum Thread | 5 Things About Bournemouth at 16:13 1 Oct 2024
1. The trains were a shambles, the 3.01 from Totton was cancelled, the 10.15 home was put back to 10.30 so Saints fans could get it, but they then cancelled all the scheduled stations apart from Brockenhurst and as they also cancelled the 11.15 I suspect Bournemouth fans who would have gone to New MIlton or Christchurch would have been stranded, when I got back to Southampton central the train to Totton was cancelled. 2. The Bell pub was crowded but ok, but seemed to have put the drinks prices up. 3. Its a bit of a trek through a dark field to get from Pokesdown Station to the ground . 4. The security and searchs to get in the ground were over the top, although the people doing them were friendly. 5. £5.50 in the ground for a pie was outrageous, but they were nice. |
| Forum Thread | Train Back From Bournemouth Delayed Departure at 14:07 30 Sep 2024
Good news for Saints fans travelling by train, the 22.15 train from Pokesdown after the game has been put back 15 minutes to 22.30, so everyone should be able to get back to the station in time with the game finishing at 10 ish Seems like the police dont want 600 Saints fans in the pubs around the station hanging around for the 23.15 |

With so few away fans at tonights game, there will be a few watching it on tv tonight , big questions are should it be KWP for Taylor and Brereton Diaz for Archer in the starting line up |

When it comes to managerial or transfer rumours there are few reliable sources, they are all just rehashing and creating headlines, but that is what football is all about, the only reality is a result at the final whistle |
| Forum Thread | Why We Should Not Fear Bournemouth at 14:06 27 Sep 2024
Bournemouth start this weekend on 5 points, but they are very lucky to have those 5. Game 1 - 1-0 down at Forest and 86th minute equaliser Game 2 - 1-1 draw with Newcastle Game 3- 2-0 down at Everton in the 87th minute before Everton collapsed to a 3-2 defeat Game - 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea Game 5 - 3-0 defeat at Liverpool. If Everton hadn't collapsed then they would only have 2 points from this season. One interesting fact is the number of goals they scored in their games after the 86th minute, out of the 5 they have scored 4 have been after the 86th minute, so they keep going. |

History will record that Ralph did a difficult job under even more difficult circumstances, he was the longest serving manager in 30 years and he kept us in mid table having to work with almost no money for transfers coming in. By the time that the owners changed he was shell shocked. But he still oversaw the arrival of the likes of Lavia etc and if it hadn't been for injury things could have been a lot different. Our problems began when the then CEO made some poor decisions regarding managers and the January transfer window of 2023 which on reflection was a disaster. It is easy to ridicule Ralph but I do not think we would have gone down if we had kept him, if only for the fact that at least he knew what he was doing compared to Jones and Selles |

| Forum Reply | Recruitment Analyst leaves for Arsenal at 09:33 26 Sep 2024
Im not sure he was responsible for the actual recruitment, just the analysis side of things and providing the data. But in defence he would have identified Livramento, Adam Armstrong, , Bella Kotchap, Lavia, Mara, , Taylor, Fernandes, Suguwara all of whom have played a part over the last 3 years and are worth a lot more than they cost So if we balance out our recruitment over the past few years it hasn't lost money |
