I wouldn't pay too much attention to these friendly results as celtic are a couple of weeks ahead of the English clubs in preparedness for the new season.
In a proper competitive game they would get smashed.
The problem with this is that clubs aren't at SMS beating our doors down with offers for our players. We've rejected miserly bids for Tall Paul and ABK which have fallen well short of our valuation and unless we're willing to compromise we're going to be stuck with them. It's all gone very quiet on the KWP front. I think the club were expecting him to be out of the door by now. Our other saleable asset is Charlie Alcaraz, but he seems to now have a future here as he's been involved in most of the pre season games. I don't know where else we're going to recoup any meaningful transfer fees. It's a worry.
Sapporo premium lager to be sold at SMS along side Kingfisher this season. Can't say i've tried it myself so don't know what its like. Any of you pissheads , or should i say connoisseurs ever tried it ? Or is this a sop just to attract Japanese tourists to spend an extra couple of quid on matchday. Top 3 Japanese customs to introduce to SMS 1. Pre match sumo wrestling 2. Geisha girls. 3. Ritual harakiri at half time for anyone who misses a sitter or makes a mistake which leads to an opponent scoring.
The obvious drawback with number 3 is that we wouldn't have any players left to start the 2nd half.
Talk about commentators curse. 9th round he says Chisora will win as long as he avoids Joyces , and before he could finish his sentance Chisora decked him.
O'Riley and KWP are both rated around the £20m mark. Why don't we just offer a straight swap. O'Riley gets to play in the premier league and puts himself in the shop window for a future transfer and KWP gets to play in the Champions League and guarantees he'll win some silverware every season in the domestic league. Everyones a winner. Job done.
Don't want to be a pedant Joe. But that Hughie Fisher goal was an equaliser, not a winner. I remember because we were walking back to our car in the Top Rank car park and heard the roar. Maybe thats why i never leave a game early any more.
