The only time I have been genuinely gutted for anyone to leave QPR was Gerry Francis as manager in 1994-95. Even as a young fan then, you knew that the good times were over and so it subsequently played out. I think that most of QPR's problems for the next 10 years after that can all be linked back to that day. |

Tony Roberts A man who never made himself a number one behind such players like Jurgen Sommer and Seib Dykstra. 112 apps in 10/11 years. According to Wiki. Even as a youngster in the 90s I was never impressed with him. |

Luckily I am at a family wedding, but I still wouldn't pay that money. The problem is, is that people WILL pay that money and the FA / FL know that, so they can charge what they want. What it will take is for fans / clubs not to go, that's the only way to get the message across. The more they get sell outs the more that will continue to charge what they want. £98 for a second tier football game is an absolute disgrace! What would they do if a whole end of the ground was empty? It would take a bold club to make that decision, but the FA / FL know no one would ever miss out on a trip to Wembley |

Norwich last 4 games: LIverpool H, Man U A, Chelsea A, Arsenal H. Get your money on them to go down. Thats an awful run in. Even our rin in the season we stayed up had games we could win, like the Stoke at home game. Fulham v Palace last game of the season looks tasty as well, providing both teams are still alive. Although Fulham have got Man U (A), Liverpool(H), Chelsea(H), Newcastle(H), Man C(A) and Everton(H) in next 8 games. Could be cut adrift, which would be a real shame. |
| Forum Reply | Lower league players we probably won't sign at 13:58 11 Apr 2013
Jonathan Williams @ Palace Saw him play for Wales against Scotland (I think) and he came on as a Sub. Changed the game, looked comfortable on the ball and like to take the game to Scotland. Future Star. These are the players that we should be signing and how the club should be structured. Buy players with Sell on value. Also Alex Smithies GK @ Huddersfield is another good player. Think if we get relegated, should get a manager in who will be here in 4/5 years and build a team using these players. Steal young players from lower league teams and build through them. |

My main thing would be that all football contracts are no longer than 2 years. A lot of the problems with finances in football is that teams are committing themselves to 4 - 5 year contracts with no promise that they are going to be in the same position that they are when the contract is signed. Another more radical idea would be...... Me and the old man were discussing this the other day. Our plan would be each team would have a squad of 26 players and would have to conform to (3GK, 9DEF, 9MID, 5ATT). If you need to add to this roster then you would have to fill the position with a player that has graduated through the youth team and is under 18. This would stop the stockpiling of players, means that better players (18+) would end up filtering through the leagues to get first team opportunities. Also gives the youth players a chance to play. In regards to the Salary Cap. If you tied it in with the above you would have a salary cap for your 26. This would mean that teams could budget better every year. I admit that this needs reworking but its just an idea. My biggest worry is that a lot of teams are going to fold in the next 10 - 20 years unless massive changes are made to the game. Wages are growing faster and are unsustainable to all clubs. I don't think that in today's modern society and football as it is that England can sustain 92 football league clubs anymore. Just my opinion. |
