As much as todays display was much better than last weeks or any previous games we’ve had for a while, it just ain’t good enough!
As from the hour after they went down to 10 men, we’d managed to go from 11V10, being all over them, having soo many chances compared to their few and actually playing some great football! To ending up loosing 2-1! As everyone was playing so well up until their first goal with absolutely nobody playing poorly, yet bednerak just tops it all off with that own goal. As how he’s playing over Calleta Car just makes no sense at all !

As today for most of the game we really didn’t look like that bad of a team, with all 3 of our new signings looking really good, but unfortunately just a mere 3 points from 8 games ain’t good enough one bit. And unless we however we get in is some sorta miracle worker then we are well and truly done for!
As you don’t get many games giving you a better chance at 3 points than this one.

As it reminded me of England at the euros and World Cup, being all over their opponents for a majority of the game, easily being able to win with just that one more goal with all the chances we had, yet because we don’t our opponents get one back and get into it, and then to top it all off get a late last minute winner/win on penalties!

Although it sure was nice to see a ref actually make a player properly pay for the dissent they gave!

I thought we played quite well first half. We just seemed to run out of puff, then some strange subs dreamt up by our jumpy chaser of even-toed ungulates to make us feel at home like good old Ralphy and, hey presto, we're f****d.

Every time l think it can’t get worse it does, now we can’t hold on against ten men.All the new guy’s did play pretty well
but we just don’t know how to hold onto a lead once more.Time to get rid of this manager as we are running out of time and l fear it will be to late.Went back to old ways in the second half and same outcome, trying to be positive but slowly but surely this has to change or we’re going down.

NJ has got to go! We had two shots on target, our hill and a second after we went behind. We allowed Wolves back in, it should never have happened!

Wow, just wow. If the board doesnt sack Jones now, then they are admitting they planned for relegation since his hiring. HOW do you lose to 10-men when you are up 1-0. Unbelievable, but really doesn't surprise me.

Oh and that ruined my weekend.

Points were there for the taking but Jones fatally dithered in making subs to bring the points home. Playing 5 at the back against 10 men! and giving momentum back to wolves. As per usual players go into headless chicken mode rather than game manage.

Positives glad to see Charly off the mark, Sulemana looks a real hand full and Tall Paul created havoc.

Jones just hasn't got it. I'd prefer he goes now but not sure it would save us. Going to be a horrible atmosphere at St Mary's if he stays.

Words fail me! Another classic performance (Bednarek OG a particular highlight). Not sure about the “great football “ mentioned in previous post - some bits were adequate at best. How can a manager playing Naitland-Miles as right centre back in a back five expect any respect! I gave up when Prowsy passed that free kick on the edge of penalty area after Wolves second goal. I can see no explanation for that. Jones should go back to The Valleys- if he can find a school to employ him as a PE teacher!

On the new guys, Sulemana was the real highlight (say cheerio to him in the Summer). Onuachu is what he is, a big lump who wins balls in the air and holds up fairly well . Due to his reduced mobility we lose a fair bit when pressing, but it may be a good trade off. Alcaraz was also really good and energetic. Anyone tell me why Bednarek keeps getting in the team?

Positives = Bree is calm and Ok. Lavia is class. Alcaraz looks good. Sulemena is like sh&t of a stick and will be really dangerous if he can find some end product. Salisu OK. Mauitland Niles best game since getting here

Negatives = Although w eplayed OK in the first half we didnt create many chances against a poor side who lost it for 20 minute. We simply have too many players who are not premier league standard i.e. Bednarek, Perraud, Aribo, Adams and I am afraid Onuachu is not going to solve the problem. And then Jones. I have given him more of a chance than most but today he was outclassed by the Wolves guy. He waited far too long to bring the subs on, Traore was all over Perraud, all he needed to do was match him with Salisu or Lyanco. The 2 new guys and Lavia were out of puff on 60 mins and we totally lost shape. Basically when you play against 10 you keep the ball and stretch them not hoof it forward every time the keeper gets the ball. I sit just behind him and he is a bag of nerves through out the whole game barking complete twaddle at the players which IMO never works.

We have to sack him but I am struggling to see who we can get to replace him. See Leeds for details.

Can I give Nathan Tella a 10 for his hat-trick today?
Loaning him out looks like a really good idea now (not)!

His picking of Bednarek and leaving Caleta-Car out altogether today was a definite 'feck you' gesture to the fans. If you do that then it quite simply has to work. A broadly positive performance for an hour which had us heading for vital points turned into another calamity and who was at the centre of it - Bednarek. Of course it wasn't just bednarek's fault (or even Jones' for that matter) that we lost but make that 'feck you' gesture to the fans and you should expect all you get back when it goes horribly wrong yet again.

We need a proper manager in place for the kick-off at Stamford Bridge. This afternoon was not just the final nail in Jones' coffin it was almost certainly a last chance wasted for our hopes of staying up. We are basically hoping for a miracle now - anyone think Jones is going to deliver it?

As soon as I saw the team sheet with Bednarek playing I knew we would lose. The best thing he done for us was going to villa. Jones Out Now!!!!

Thought we did OK (though largely playing against ten men) but totally imploded again for the last 15 minutes. Panic set in and weird substitutions. New players did well and made a difference with Sulemana the pick of them. Three must win home games...Forest, Villa and Wolves and we lose all three. Unbelievable! Wasted two freekicks by Ward Prowse. Why not go for goal?

If there's any positive to take from today's match, it's that we have now scientifically proven, pinpointed through empirical evidence, that the problem is the manager.

Oldbaloney added 16:59 - Feb 15

At least he’s gone - albeit too late. Typically his own brand of lunacy prevailed to the end. Of course the substitutions were too late but the bench was loaded with only Lyanco who could be described as a defender. Were there really any circumstances when Adams, Armstrong and Mara would come on? Aribo, Walcott, Edozie and Stuey also seemed barking.
Needless to say his comments to the press were as rabid as usual and the only positive was that he pixxed off down the tunnel rather than causing a riot by clapping the crowd. Most Saints fans warned Jones to succeed. He didn’t- and that was down to his own failings.
Hopefully Sellers will restore some sanity - and spell the end for JB and TW.
