Marquee buy - Andy Carroll - the new Sir Les?? 12:34 - Jul 31 with 2629 views | kysersosaqpr | Before everyone goes hahahaha - a few points: 1. We have too many hangers on pumping up weekly wage bill; and most of them are forwards from our championship era. Like Neil Warnock, I will always be grateful for their fighting spirit that got us into the premiership - but time to go! 2. I'm sick of "moneybags" prefix when we have spent little in actual transfers - lets get a marquee signing in - Andy Carroll. 3. He bullied that w::k:: Terry in the cup final and would be far better than anyone we now have. 4. If we really want top 4 let's go for it now - when the new euro rules come in we won't be able to. And like a whirl of smoke, Kayseri Sosa was gone!!!!

Marquee buy - Andy Carroll - the new Sir Les?? on 13:22 - Jul 31 by QPR_Jim | How wrong can one post be. "You could get rid of three of those" - which ones and who's going to match our wages let alone pay a fee? "or do you want quantity not quality?" - Carroll is now defined as quality? Perhaps we should ask some Liverpool fans their view on that! |
Come on - they don't play to his strengths - wingers who don't cross, etc. look at Newcastle a couple of years ago - we have far better wingers on board now and have Zamora tring to head in. Imagine tarabt, park, traore, swp, cisse, mackie, crossing and/or running onto carrolls knock downs? "Magic... Real magic"

Seeing SWP put in a decent cross would be more magic than Seigfried and Roy getting eaten by a lion.

Fair enough - he should be with Barton and Zamora on three out list. Still my point is valid - Carroll woul add to our options, send out a signal to the division that we are back. I like tarabt getting stan's No 10; I'd like Carroll to get Les's No 9 shirt!

Marquee buy - Andy Carroll - the new Sir Les?? on 13:39 - Jul 31 with 696 views | daveB | when you say what money have we spent in transfer fees are we forgetting the following dj campbell £1.2million SWP - £2.5million Luke Young 500k Ferdinand - said to be around £4million Zamora £6million Diakite £3million Cisse £4million Hoillett - going to be around £3million i've left plenty out that's without all the wages and big signing on fees we'll have paid for Green, Barton and Andy Johnson which will be a few million quid for each player It may not be as much as a Chelsea or Man City but compared to everyone else we must be about the 6th highest spenders in the division

so what's your genius plan for offloading Zamora, Barton and SWP (combined weekly wage a conservative £150k a week) onto somebody else then?

Marquee buy - Andy Carroll - the new Sir Les?? on 13:50 - Jul 31 with 666 views | RBlock | To be fair the point about low transfer fees is fair. It has been shrewd buisness to get most signings on frees or relatively low transfer fees, and spends more on wages, this way it is spread over the course of the next few years, where hopefully Loftus Road will start selling out more often than last season, we will peform better, more shirt sales, TV money. They believe the money they are committing to pay in the future is going to be increasingly subsidised over time.

They cost us a snip - let em go on frees and watch the minnows come nibbling. As I said time for us all to open the legs of our minds and think broader and deeper - we have the power but we just don't seem to realise it. 6th best spenders - we should be above em all - if oil prices are high then Man City have the richest owners; if steel prices are high then qpr have the richest owners. I'm not being disrespectful to the owners and may they continue their fab work. A new stadium will be built, new players will be bought - I think it is us fans who are not keeping up with the owners!!!

Changing the subject slightly, which will give this Kyser character a break, but how about a sneaky suggestion in Allardyce's ear that he takes Barton on loan or purchase as well, thereby reuniting Nolan, Carroll and Barton, who I believe played well at Newcastle in their last season together there?

I think if he hadn't done what he did at Man City Barton to West Ham would have been the first move of the window.

Marquee buy - Andy Carroll - the new Sir Les?? on 14:26 - Jul 31 with 582 views | Tonto | I'll split my answer into two - I thought Andy Carroll had a good Euro tournament. He looked sharp, scroed a good goal and caused some havoc. he was equally good towrads the end of the seaosn - the form got him to Ukraine. A lot of people unfairly see him as a donkey - he's better than that. Would I buy him therefore? yes. But then comes the second part - the price. His transfer to Liverpool was stupid money. Liverpool are stilla cting stupid by wanting most of that back. If he were available for less than £10M 0 I would, anymore I wouldn't.

I still wouldn't buy Carroll for £10m! Not saying he's completely rubbish (he has some good qualities and has shown in short spells he is an effective prem target man) - but for £10m you could bring in a signifcantly better forward (and player) from another part of the world. E.g. £7m for Javier Hernandez, £10m for Papisse Cisse, £4m for Djibril Cisse, £6m for Sessegnon etc etc
Marquee buy - Andy Carroll - the new Sir Les?? on 14:34 - Jul 31 with 562 views | WeAreQPR12 | It's an ok signing for west ham. Certainly NOT an inspired one. Very good in the air and this will certainly play to big Sam strength. Big sam should get the best out of the bloke because I don't think Liverpool's style suits him. He isn't what I would say a massive improvement on Carlton Cole because I think Cole is more mobile and better when the ball is on the deck but under Sam I doubt that will be the case as he will want to make them physical and difficult to play against, (spoilers)
