End of the road come summer, it has to be he's had a great career and has achieved a great deal and well done to him, but his time must be up now unfortunately, for him and us.

Shame really. Remember chatting with Boddie about Joe when he was a skinny kid. Boddie said then he was special….how true that turned out to be. It’s a nice thought that he gets his badges and stays in football.

I'm sure I read a post saying that Joe hasn't or wasn't doing his badges because he wasn't interested, which is a shame if that is true.

Would like to see Joe do his badges and remain within the club in some capacity. The DNA of the club is being lost and every effort needs to be made to keep it alive.

This DNA thing is being overplayed, the game as moved on and massively.

Mr Birch gave Leon a Britton a role. Unfortunately a shirt and tie job for a fellow who had spent the last 25 years in shorts on grass was probably too much of a transition. People like Roberto Martinez were special. Deep football knowledge very clever and organised. Angel Rangel would seem the smartest most eloquent played from the clubs history . These guys have made a fortune and do not need a 9 to 5. I think the departure of Routledge was a big blow to Swansea. Cool experienced skillful. He was class. Williams scates over things in press conferences not outlining new injuries when asked to. [Post edited 8 Feb 11:09]

Surely every experienced pro who turns coach and/or manager has to make that transition? Guardiola played first team from 1988 til 2006 then went strainght into management with Barcelona, a year with their B team but then the first team.

Few of the ex Swansea player have done this taking on their experiences with Brendan, Roberto, Laudrup Guidplin etc . Neil Taylor and Ash Williams are in the FAW system. Monk grinding on in the lower leagues. Routledge and Dyer are agents as I understand it.
