Thank you Nigel Farage 10:22 - Dec 20 with 7408 viewsjohnlangy

Now that's a thread title I never thought i'd create.

I said to my wife a number of times over the last five years or so that soon there's going to be a revolution in this country. And not one with bullets, barricades and beheadings. And Reform could very well be that revolution.

Millions of people are finally saying i'm not taking this any more. Whatever colour of government is elected 98% of us are essentially shat on. No matter how much money there is there's never enough to pay a huge number of people enough to live a decent life because 'the country can't afford it' while at the same time the 1 or 2% at the top have money thrown at them because they are the people at the top.

I'm not a Reform voter but i'm sure many millions more will become Reform voters over the next 4 years up till the next election. And for no other reason, I believe, than they are not Labour or Conservatives. They've got no policies that i'm aware of other than cutting immigration and what they are saying about that seems to be ridiculous. But people don't seem to care. They've just had enough.

Nice to see that there's now a grudging acceptance that Reform could alter the mindset of many voters who traditionally voted for either main parties with a smattering of the smaller party's picking up the stragglers , now we see a new much welcomed party looking like it's upsetting the status quo and about time.
But as Gwyn says they need to consolidate with policies which make sense ,are doable and right for everyone otherwise they are meaningless.

There is no grudging acceptance of Reform in Wales.

Reform are posh boy English nationalists who care little for Wales and know even less.

The only thing they ever promised has been a huge international failure.
Take back control of the borders he said in 2016 ?
Why would anyone trust him now ?

Wales has always had an inbuilt progressive majority, and that majority recognises the threat of Farage to our Senedd.

Like I posted earlier KK….Farage wasn’t in power…it was the Tories. And don’t forget it was Blair’s Govt that opened the flood gates.
If both Conservatives and Labour had got their act together then Farage and Reform wouldn’t have the impetus they have today.

Farage. The man who has made more money from our EU days than any other politician, and will continue to grab every euro in his pension pot. One of life’s biggest hypocrites.

Id be very surprised if the Kinnocks didnt make more.

He keeps harping on about young people, about what choices they WILL make, as if he knows.
We were all young once and thought we knew better than older people and look at the mess we are in. Young people today aren't educated so very much better than we were. There is very little generational change and indeed, employers complain that young people are less rady for the world of work than previous generations,

cipd.org/uk/about/press-releases/just-one-in-four-employers-recruiting-young-people-think-theyre-prepared-for-work/#:~:text=Almost%20two-thirds%20(64%25),to%20manage%20than%20previous%20generations.

And from the web,

Almost two-thirds (64%) think young people often lack important social skills in the workplace, while 71% think they don't always know how to behave in the workplace. More than half (56%) think that young workers are more difficult to manage than previous generations.

Gen z I believe they're called and as you posted so many are just not ready for the real world let alone caring about the political scene in this country , just caring about themselves.

John Major ratified the Maastricht Treaty which introduced freedom of movement. Blair and some of his ministers made a mistake in not regulating the initial tranche of EU migrants, but any action he could have taken would have been time limited as the controls were only ever transitionary. Blair opened the flood gates, but the flood gates have been ripped off their hinges over the last 5 years with millions coming in over the last 5 years.
We’ve been left down by numerous politicians, red, blue and a host of other colours.

I did not say Farage was in power, i said he made promises. He did.

You make a very valid point about Farage.
He is like a turd that refuses to flush.

Bottom of every league table before we even had a senedd.
Thatchers treatment of the miners illustrates the way London rule cared little for Wales.

Devolution is modern way of running governments the world over.
You just cant think beyond what exists today, its a very blinkered approach to the richness of life.
Tomorrow does not always have to be the same.

Do you support welsh people having to pay insurances charges to use the NHS ?
I know imagination is not a strong point for you, but its a Reform policy.
Yes or no ?

If you believe that the people of Wales life's have improved since devolution then you must be smoking crack , the kids today are far less educated , have fewer job opportunities, less healthier , why are so many leaving Wales if its the utopia you believe it to be and here we go again living in the past coal miners ,Thatcher etc Labour closed more mines than she ever did ,I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Churchill although I'm sure you'll fit him in someone in your narrative .What I see is Wales is a country which for the past 25 years has stagnated what you believe to be true is a lie.

Just to put this one to bed but in who's manifesto is this ? "Do you support welsh people having to pay insurances charges to use the NHS "

"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

Looks like Labour have knocked a nail into their own coffin again .

Two MPs in the Greater Manchester area , and a spouce , members Gwynne and Ryan suspended because they cannot be trusted to be intelligent , thought that was one of the first lines on a CV and electorial pamphlet .

They must have missed that requirement to stand as a Politician .

How dull are these people , everthing on social media is available to the right people who have access to silly statements .

A newspaper can put any journalist into a conversation albiet as a friend .

Sunday morning tabloids , headline news .
.

He couldn’t make promises. The chance of him ever forming a government is virtually nil.
