Of course they didn't press us in the first 20mins and of course they had to change and we did move the ball well at times as they struggle to get a foot in the game.Happy to get the win, all through games you would expect it be be nip and tuck it is all about adapting to get the upper hand on teams, are you saying they were poor in the first 20 mins as opposed to us being good, if that is your argument you could say the opposite applied after the 20mins mark , we both know that is not how games pan out.
They had to attack because they were 2-0 down, we had to defend because of their pressure, the question should be how do we relieve that pressure and did we do it effectively often enough. We won so is the answer yes but could we have done it better. |

Because I am not discussing the review purely the posts on here during the game .....and my psot where I offered my opinion how it seems some of our fan base seem to revel in us being under the cosh and moght prefer us to lose so they can continue to post negativity.

Last night,we were sublime,dominant and utterly humiliating a derby side who are very mediocre .

It's a fair question. I am, on the whole, only partly enthused by Luke Williams.
After an iffy start he's done reasonably well. The defence is nice and tight, which is important as if you're conceding goals by the shedload you'll never get anywhere. In that at least he's smarter than his mentor.
In recent games performances have improved markedly. Improved enough to make some wonder how it was possible to be so poor with the exact same players in October. To others the answer is obvious in that the team wasn't being sent out to play in a way that in any circumstances was able to get the best out of them. I think we can comfortably lay to bed the idea that he's been given an incapable squad. It just took him perhaps longer than it should have to work out how to use them.
In any case, we're doing well now and with a couple of additions should do even better. We just need him to stop playing people out of position, substituting Franco just for the giggles and make use of his full squad and we can get somewhere. | |
