A new manager cant take us any further down the table, were bottom. If he cant keep us up no one will blame him. There are some decent players here and with the January transfer window you never know who will be willing to take the chance. Depends on who we get.

Trouble is Grumps, we don't have enough decent players to keep us up. And our owners track record of January signings does not fill me with confidence. I really do hope that something changes very soon because we are rapidly becoming the Premier Lgs whipping boys.

We'll never know if we have enough good players or not if we don't try. Surely not even his supporters now think that RM can keep us up. Staying with him is just accepting relegation and probably as the worst ever PL team. No matter how bad a new manager is, he can't do worse than RM. Nathan Jones would be an improvement. I don't like just giving in so I want to see us at least try something different. We've got very little to lose - probably just 8 months of his salary - and a lot to gain if it works.
One good reason why they won't get rid of Russell Martin on 07:24 - Nov 11 with 940 views | City_boy | I still believe there is an outside chance. I also believe we have players that are good enough with a couple of good signings, or at least ones that will play. Many of those we have signed in last 12 months are not even playing regularly. Much has been said about us not being able to afford to sack Martin. I would be happy to forgo some of the January transfer fund to pay Martin off and get rid of him now. We would stand a better chance of survival with a new coach that can get the best out of this team. So we forget signing some 17 year old for 3-5 million or get rid of Martin ? Lalana's name has been touted. I wouldn't have supported a move for him as manager before the season started, but where we are now, we don't have much to lose. [Post edited 11 Nov 7:25]

We have enough good players to keep us up Fernandez KWP Downes THB Ramsdale They just need to play in a team that’s cohesive and organised Manning as an LB acting as a makeshift winger to make room for Stephens to roam around and who never makes any runs forwards anticipating a pass is just plain stupid Equally we do lack a goalscorer too But an organised experienced manager could keep us up but that needs to happen NOW

Agreed. I can't stand all this talk, that we're already doomed so what's the point of changing manager BS !
One good reason why they won't get rid of Russell Martin on 11:55 - Nov 11 with 696 views | dirk_doone | There are a few for various reasons. Ruud van Nistelrooy might jump at the first opportunity to continue managing in the Premier League, with a view to taking over at Old Trafford eventually. Jose Fonte would love to get his first job as a manager here. He is unproven, but I think he's more managerial material than Lallana, who has been suggested by many people. Ivan Jovanović might consider leaving his job as the Greek national team manager. He's been very successful there, but I doubt they pay him much. There are others managing successfully in minor European leagues who would welcome any chance to get their foot in the door in the Premier League. Ankersen will be making the decision though, which will probably just mean more of the same: Martin or another mediocre Championship manager, who is a bit "different". With all of them, there is an element of risk, but we really have nothing to lose this season. [Post edited 11 Nov 12:07]

the trouble is our defence cant defend hence why we went down last year thats why we try and squeeze in another centre back hence we got relegated with Bednerek, KWP, they will be gone this year. where is the german defender does he even train i hope we arent paying him his wages . We have built for the championship already this season, never any intention of staying up , Ronnie edwards, nathan wood, sugawara, brereton diaz, frazer , Archer, Stewart, all good championship players never ever in a million years premiership players we are not a premiership club anymore and never will be under RM and ankerson .
