Is TV killing us? 11:29 - Oct 21 with 1138 views | qprbenjamin163 | Given that for the last two and a half seasons we've been as poor a team as the club has ever put out, and given that for years before that we've been worse than average, it seems incredible that Sky keep coming back for more and more and more. I see Coventry on Tue is also live on the box. Does anyone have figures which show whether we've been the live game a disproportionate number of times? It feels like a weekly occurrence now and I don't doubt it has some bearing on our home record stretching back over 50 games (13 wins is it?). I may be imagining it but we seem to be on the box constantly and that's weird when the fare is so abject.

Maybe years ago when you was on TV maybe once or twice a season it would feel different in that match, but there is so much media coverage these days around everything, that its just another game. All clubs have to be on a certain amount of times per season as part of the TV deal.

I disagree (slightly). The TV money has, by and large, gone straight into the pockets of players and agents. Without all the Sky money players would not get the silly money that many of them “earn” now.

If it's not Sky it would be someone else paying the money

Is TV killing us? on 12:54 - Oct 21 with 745 views | R_from_afar | No, I don't think TV is. I think our problems can be summed up in five bullet points: 1 - The vast majority of our fans can remember when QPR was a decent top flight club and even played in Europe, all of which set some expectations 2 - We blew both our chances when we were in the Prem recently 3 - Our internal player development has not been good enough 4 - FFP / P&S rules, whether we like it or not, load the odds against clubs like ours which have low capacity grounds and modest fan bases 5 - There simply is no guarantee of success, no matter how big a club, its fanbase, stadium or FFP / P&S headroom is. None of this means that we should just accept being rubbish, but we face huge challenges due to points 3 and 4 above and point 4 does really require clubs like us to turn base metal into gold. I'll end by saying "Keep the faith," while acknowledging that being a QPR fan in this day and age wears one's patience very thin indeed.
| "Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1." |
