Disgusting , and yet the homeless of this country many veterans included have nothing . Government own figures show that since 2001 to 2022, 285 ex veterans committed suicide : Suicide 285 100% Male 264 93% Female 21 7% Waiting Verdicts [note 1] 27 100% Male 18 67% Female 9 33% Many of these abandoned by the state and yet if you illegally cross the channel you get the best of everything the state can provide just because we're a caring sharing society , but not if you happen to be British, then you can sing.
"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

5,000 beds , just in case on 10:16 - Aug 31 with 1068 views
The Committee didn't clarify whether the full (as in if occupied) cost of hotel rooms in the 5000 bed buffer is being paid by the Home Office, or if a reduced rate is available to ensure the availability of rooms should they be needed. Either way this shows why that Home Office overspend existed. What strikes me though that politicians on all sides appear concerned to ensure that these buffer beds are good quality hotel beds, rather than beds in accommodation barges or military camps. So the overspend is criticized, but at the same time there is pressure to incur that expenditure

What a F-ing farce! The way they talk without any shame, or realisation of the way that they are turning the U.K into a magnet to attract an underclass in thousands. The more hotel rooms that are filled, the more that will come after that!
Beds? Take the beds out, give them to needy born and bred U.K citizens and give the illegals sleeping bags that homeless U.K army veterans have to use to sleep on the streets!
Argus!

The latter (with tents added) is pretty much what the RoI is doing for single male migrants at present.

And we ,as a country ,tolerate this Recently, people were on the streets basically rioting for “ fun” However, there should be marches in Westminster in protest at this . Refugees welcome . Yeah baby
There is the national emergency that the U.K is taking in the very types who come from recognised hotspots with a proven past and present history for Islamic terrorist activity and training.
QUOTE: "Exclusive data shows how a rise in online propaganda and a surge in global plots has made the Afghanistan (ISIS) branch of the terror group "the greatest external terror threat" to Europe. END OF QUOTE
But yet you get crackpots that'll attack genuine concerns and chant out infantile virtue signalling guilibilty at full volume using a loud hailer or PA system "Say it loud say it clear 5,000 beds ready and waiting here"

This 5,000 additional bed capacity has been in existence for some time, since at least June 2023 when the Home Office confirmed the arrangement. The rationale behind the additional rooms was because it was impossible to predict how many arrivals there could be, for example in one 3 day period there were over 1700 arrivals. The Home Office were also accommodating another 50,000 in hotels. I’d imagine those hotels are sitting empty, it would be pretty difficult for hotels to cancel legitimate bookings at the drop of a hat to accommodate “new guests” - but I could be wrong - it wouldn’t be surprised.
