I imagine if you got rid of all the million pound salaried CEO’s and executives nobody would notice, if anything half these places would run better. But take away the workers on minimum wage and the place grinds to a halt immediately. Which group adds more value to the business?

Exactly so the whole team should be rewarded not just the bloke at the top.

Yes, but if things go TU then it’s the top team that get it and usually the CEO gets his P45. The ground staff aren’t affected.

It’s going TU now and the top team are getting rewarded. The top team get rewarded anyway regardless of success or failure. And even if they do get their p45 it will inevitably be accompanied with a nice little severance payment.

Well that's obviously not right. When things go bad it's the ground staff who face job cuts and being told they have to perform better and usually without a pay rise. The top team, if they lose their jobs usually get a big payoff and then, despite having made a mess of things often walk into another ludicrously well paid job. This Nellis fella, if they sacked him I bet he'd get hundreds of thousands in a pay off. If the ground staff are made redundant it's what, a maximum of 36 weeks pay. PS, why does this guy getting a ridiculous pay rise mean striking is th best course of action? [Post edited 24 Jun 2022 23:14]

It never seems to do their reputation much harm either and they end up in another well paid position. Dido Harding for example.

It didn’t work out so well for her, she had that one song with Eminem and you never heard of her again.

If things go TU the top team stay in place to decide which of the actual day to day working staff get sacked. This is why most public services are a mess, upper management mess things up and the day to day staff get the sack for it.
