Mason, one day a week at the Little Pompey academy from the age of 4-6, (so as 130 tells us Pompey born, raised and developed in Greater Portsmouth area) was never much good at penalties even from an early age, his dad (who did most of the early training in their Copnor back garden) said the pressure always got to him and more penalties than not ended up in the neighbours garden or the apple tree.

Mount, like many others, is a perfectly adequate PL player but is not to my mind particularly outstanding in terms of English players or PL players.
He has periods when he plays well and periods when he doesn't - all players do.
For me, he's also of that generation of players who have been coached to think that they are entitled to time and space and when denied that by a "lesser" player, they act petulantly and show their spoilt brat side.
He's not alone. I'd put Grealish in this camp, Maddison, few others perhaps including John Terry of old.
