We all love an FA Cup third round tie, it’s the one after the second round where all the big teams from every round up to the third round have won their games, mostly. However, now they become the small teams, which seems odd, some even call them minnows, which I think is a child fish. Some people are called ‘Min’ so if someone called ‘Min’ hadn’t paid their debts it would be a ‘Min owes’ me money situation, as Glen would say. Of course once the big teams become the small teams they do become of interest to the televisual transmission people, and if they do have any debts they can sometimes pay them off.
Or if two premier league teams draw each other these smaller big teams are generally ignored. This is because the BBC likes to have the premier league sides on the tv because they haven’t got any money like Amazon and Sky to pay for proper games. And if they did they would give it away to people like Jimmy Saville.

With every week that passes by, it's looking less likely that Russell is the next messiah. We are a boring watch in my opinion, I might go as far as even more boring than Cooper's football, which was pretty hard to beat.
I just don't look forward to backwards/sideways send your aunt to sleep football, we need an injection of pace in the tempo of our game, more direct forward passing and we need to adapt safety first method at the back to cut out the goals concede column. Russell is just not learning, it's a results business, we are hoping for rainbows in two/three years time, but there is no evidence of it happening with mid table Russell. |  |

Passed up a golden chance. With 10 men they sat off and let us do what we want, and the insistence of trying to thread a needle in the middle of the pitch did us no favours. Jayne Ludlow on commentary eventually twigged that what she was seeing wasn't a positive for us.
Another game where we get to the end with the majority of possession and the most tired players. Brendan Rodgers used to talk about keeping the ball to rest, and to tire teams out, but that doesn't happen for us. We don't move teams around, they can sit in shape for long periods while we work hard to keep it.
Grimes and Ntcham improved us dramatically. Dhanda and Obafemi oh dear. Did very little with the opportunity offered. |

I honestly thought Cullen did alright tonight, his best game for us certainly this season.
Obafemi should have been hooked not Cullen.
As for Dahnda ? Can't even trap the fecking ball and gave it away countless times.
Wtf was Rhys Williams trying to do? Lost the ball everytime and total disinterest in trying to win it back. But there again what was the manager thinking when he put him on, reminded me of Mark Hughes desperately playing James Collins on the wing for Wales at the end of his career.

For me after a very slow start we played ok, but broadly got what we deserved - our defence is way too static, the individuals lack pace & generally do not have the natural first touch/passing skills that allows any degree of comfort in RM’s chosen style. Not helped at all by Hamer’s seeming inability to make saves vs attempts on our goal.
Feel some sympathy for Nauts who could fit in ok with better CBs next to him particularly if we added some pace into the back 3/4.

I agree with you. In the end it was our comedy defending that did for us. How can a team with 10 men manage to get a 3 against one in our penalty area? Where was everybody, do we have Marie Celeste syndrome?
