A Republican administration would sign a trade deal with us. Democrats changed tack because they want to force Great Britain back into the EU, they are open about this... ...but by doing trade deals with individual states that puts pressure on the other states of course, who will all want their piece of that action.
Truth wins out, people do what is good for them in the end...despite ideological politicians trying to stand in the way.
Re: the 'Special Relationship' The Democrats despise this country, we are the source of the people who formed the USA...and they despise their own country, it's founders.
Obama and Biden have taken it upon themselves to interfere in UK politics. It is high time our government interfered in theirs. We should announce that we will not support any military action undertaken by any Democrat US government until they undertake deep reform of their party. We should publicly condemn them for Afghanistan, we should publicly condemn them for illegally spying on an elected US government. We should publicly condemn them for their corrupt 3rd world elections. We should publicly condemn them for holding political prisoners without charge. We should refuse to deal with their mentally unfit 'President'.
Biden's crowd make me laugh. Boasting about his Irish heritage...none of his ancestors have lived in Ireland since the 1850s...putting out stories of how his mum hated the Queen so much she had the bad manners to refuse to sleep in a bed that the Queen had slept in....his mum was born in Pennsylvania and lived all her life there, as was her parents. You've got to go back to Biden's Great Grandfather to find anyone who was born in Ireland, and he quickly left to emigrate to the US.
Lying fecking scumbags. You could throw a stone into a crowd in Swansea/Neath/Port Talbot and 99 times out of a 100 you would hit somebody with more Irish blood than him...but he cares about the GFA because he is so Irish and understands the issues. Con man arsehole.
"It's what people know about themselves inside that makes them afraid" - "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act" - "The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it"

But they wouldn’t. It’s well documented that there is a very strong bipartisan group of republicans and democrats who’ve agreed to block any potential trade deal between the US and UK if there is any potential adverse impact on the GFA/peace process. They’ve made their position quite clear and given it’s a sizeable number Senators and Representative's there’s no chance the position will change. The Irish lobby is huge in the States and while I suspect most couldn’t point Ireland out on a map it’s something we can’t get around.
Boris is between a rock and a hard place. If he invokes Article 16 which it was claimed he’d do before Christmas he’ll never get a trade deal with the US, it will also cause huge issues with the EU. He’s also unlikely to get a deal unless he moves the goal posts on food standards - allowing hormone treated meat and chlorinated chicken in which the government have said they won’t do. I think the government could revisit this in time, but its likely to be very contentious and unpopular.

By god the project fear morons must be feeling idiots now 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Isn't it time both sides stopped the penis waving and just got on with life?
We have to live with it now for good or bad and both sides trying to gloat or snipe is just childish. I mean, I can be as chidish as the next twit but it has to end somewhere.

This is just a rehash of a Daily Express article, the video makes reference to Lord Frost being Brexit Minister so it’s either out of date or just wrong. I’m all for supporting British business and making it easier for our businesses to win contracts makes sense, tbh the default position should always be a British company gets the job provided they can deliver what’s required and at a competitive price. There should though be safeguards around procurement processes to prevent rampant corruption.

The problem is we have a UK government whose default mode seems to be corrupt! They'll chase people for a few hundred in benefits but people who they've allowed to wrongly claim millions don't seem to be targets.
We had the tax credits people onto us for 146 quid that we didn't owe them, we'd payed back all we did owe but 5 years on we were getting letters and despite my proving to them in the first year we didn't owe anything they kept coming back. I haven't heard anything from them since I said either take us to court or stop harassing us, any more letters and I said we'd take them to court for harassment.

Mate of mine was a tax inspector specialising in going after dishonest people committing fraud and tax evasion, his department was reduced and relocated away ( I’d use the word culled) during austerity. Tbh they should have been given targets and incentivised to go after thevpeople who were committing large scale fraud against the exchequer and ultimately us not “rationalised”

Project fear cliff edge 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Massive house price drop No medicine Empty shop shelves Unemployment sky rocketing 10 years to negotiate any trade deals No flights Huge delays at all ports Etc Etc Etc
All pushed by the idiot Remoaners, who have now in hindsight been proven to be 100% wrong in their scaremongering, and the majority who told them they were talking total BS and demanded that democracy was upheld were actually the ones that were correct.
Still waiting for the cliff edge the morons told us would happen to appear😂😂😂😂😂😂

That they chase people for money owed, whatever the reason is fine with me. My problem was that they chased us for money we didn't owe because we had paid it. The left hand and right hand are strangers to each other, clearly.
Another strange thing, is it right that if you owe over 2k you have to pay it all back immediately but if you owe less you can pay back in instalments?
Pikey, I can agree with most of those things but there have been delays at ports and problems/hold ups with imports and exports.

There are always minor problems when you change a system with new paperwork. Everyone gets used to it some just take a bit longer
Brexit Britain wiping the floor with the eu on 19:52 - Mar 14 by Kilkennyjack
There was no need for any of it. The soft versions of Brecit would have delivered frictionless trade.
You cant defend the indefensible. Any paper work is a shite imposition on a so-called trading nation.
Wise up Felix mun.

The soft version meant we wouldn't have left, we would still have been tied to EU rules.
Paperwork is what business is run by, there is always paperwork the problem arose when the amount of paperwork was massively increased and for what reason....the EU was just being awkward
Even back in the days of the Raj there were reams of paperwork, beaurocracy, the Brist invented it!

The rules that the EU apply to third countries were well known. In fact British lawyers helped create them. Nobody is being awkward, the uk govt chose to be treated like this.
The uk people voted Brexit in 2016, nobody chose this disruptive hard brexit and nobody chose a softer version. Many might think the later was what people were promised, and the former a form of national self harm that only , say, Putin would have wanted.
The situation in Ukraine has seen Macron the global statesman, and Johnson the Russian poodle. It stinks.
It really should not surprise people too much that a man sacked twice for lying, and who lied over partygate, and who lied over pandemic contracts for chums, might have lied of Brexit as well - and not only the protocol that he signed. His fecking so-called oven ready deal…

Some good news GDP in January was up 0.8% and is now 0.8% higher than prepandemic levels February 2020 and of course prebrexit levels.
More good news for the UK economy
Employment rate 75.6% up 0.1% Unemployment rate 3.9% down 0 2% Economically inactive 21.3% up 0.1% Strangely that totals 100.8%
Payroll employees 29,700,000 up 275,000 to a record high Job vacancies 1,318,000 record high Hours worked up 4,700,000 though that is still below prepandemic levels.

Some good news in there to be fair, but that is countered by the fact the last decade saw the worst improvement in living standards for over 200 years (worse than after the 2 world wars), pay rises aren’t keeping up with inflation which results in a drop in living standards and for public sector workers such as the NHS staff the drop is even more pronounced and all this is before April’s hike in energy prices and interest rates.
We voted for Brexit, but Brexit meant different things to different people and the 3 years of arguing that took place post referendum caused huge issues. We’re getting there, but we’re a long way off where we should be in terms of customs procedures etc. The inaction between 2016 and 2020 has left us trying to play catch up. The Northern Ireland situation is a mess.

Macron a global statesman, that is utterly ridiculous, it was he who wanted to hand Ukraine to Russia on a plate. He would have sold them out tout de suite.

We don't communicate from one leader to another on these subjects like this via tweets or by making letters public, he said live on tv..
Never mind eh, I didn't defend Bojo I just pointed out your high praise of Macron mas badly placed. Macron wanted to give Ukraine to Russia, he wanted to appease them, the cowards way out. Bojo is all kinds of stupid and useless and even he didn't go for the cowards way out.
Hang on though, I'm sure there was a poster on here who also agreed with handing Ukraine over!
