MATCH DAY THREAD V MAN UNITED on 22:24 - Feb 2 with 1674 views | 1885_SFC | Worryingly, I'm concerned about Ralph walking after this. Losing 9-0 to Leicester was bad enough - but to do it twice in one season is, quite frankly, unprecedented. If he's still here at the weekend for the Newcastle game - I will be truly amazed.

Was thinking exactly the same. How do you come back from 9-0 twice?

If we had any referee other than Mike Dean tonight, the score would have been 2-1 or 3-1. Dean knows how to destroy us. He had 2 main objectives tonight: 1 To award his 20th Man United penalty 2. To see if he could beat the Leicester score. There isn't much you can do about it. You can't beat a refereee. Our next game, we'll be fine. Don't blame the manager or players for what Dean did to them. It will be the icing on the cake for Dean if Ralph resigns or is sacked. People inside football know what Dean is up to: https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/10/28/garth-crooks-says-referee-mike-dean-instig [Post edited 2 Feb 2021 22:50]

The same way you come back from 9-0 once. This time it is very different. How many teams our size could sustain the injuries we have?

Agree Dirk , you can tell by the bench the manager was hamstrung hence the players too. You can't blame the owners either as they are doing a fantastic job reducing costs , they managed to farm out recent players playing in the premier league on premier league wages to Sunderland and Birmingham and get in our 3rd choice goalie and you know there master plan ? They didn't have to pay a win bonus.

MATCH DAY THREAD V MAN UNITED on 22:11 - Feb 2 by A1079 | I suppose what I equally find hard is how we fold though when things like this happen. Why did we not just pack our defence and midfield to just keep the score respectable? I don't think a Sheff Utd or a Burnley would collapse like that even if they did go down to 10 men and to do it 2 seasons in a row is bewildering. Now we have lost Bednarek for the next game. An extremely costly evening in every sense to add onto a lousy transfer window. |
Can we appeal Bednarek's red befoer the weekend, although I'm assuming it is only a 1 game ban?

I think it's possible and also Arsenal are thinking about the similar David Luis one too. Got to give it a go, haven't we? (Assuming we can afford to pay the lawyers.) Do we actually have a replacement for him, if not??

We HAVE to appeal it as a matter of principle I wish someone would come out and bitch about Dean, like Nuno for Mason With all this scrutiny and VAR these days why should they not be accountable for the decisions they make
