Drink it dry 17:22 - Jul 9 with 2979 views | D_Alien | Totally random this Anyone else been to the Bowland Brewery beer hall in Clitheroe? I'm there at the minute, and on Monday/Tuesdays they have a Drink It Dry promotion where their guest ales are due for changing and they sell off the end of barrels at half price plus half price burgers. We're going for the Thai Burgers. I'll be pissed in a bit, so just thought i'd post whilst still capable Recommended End of

Drink it dry on 17:36 - Jul 9 with 2930 views | aleanddale | I have been several times and echo the wise words that it a lovely place for a drink and the grub is good too. They have just opened a hotel next door and it’s free parking so you could easy make a proper day of it. Good ale - good food - lovely setting and thankfully no TV screens!
Drink it dry on 17:51 - Jul 9 with 2881 views | shawclough_dale | Been a couple of times they say it's the largest bar in the country. The Ale house in the centre little micro bar is worth a visit also, if you're making a day of it.

Drink it dry on 18:07 - Jul 9 with 2836 views | Huddersdale1 | Yes, visited the beer hall when doing a walk which took in Waddington and West Bradford as well as Clitheroe Town Centre. Lancashire scenery at it's finest. Byrne's Wine Shop in the Town Centre is also worth a visit, the underground cellars seem to go on forever.

Free car parking & cheap beer doesn’t bode well unless you can find a designated driver 🤨 Always cheap beer in the dog, no TV”s, Juke Boxes, mobile phones, iPads or laptops in there either 🤨😀

Drink it dry on 21:20 - Jul 9 with 2662 views | nordenblue | A stunning part of the country, we rented a huge farm house near Grindleton not long ago taking 6 kids and 3 couples, a wonderful place to stay for a few days. On a similar note if anyone's into finer dining, the michelin star Northcote Manor nearby takes some beating not just the food but the service is phenomenal, been a few times and as expensive as it is the experience is well worth spoiling yourself once in a while.

Top place Northcote. Stayed over there once for a special occasion and it was! Nigel Haworth does a cracking hotpot! Used to be involved with the Three Fishes in Mitton and the Clog & Billycock in Pleasington, Lancashire; the Highwayman in Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria; and the Bull at Broughton, North Yorkshire - gave those up to focus on a 2nd Michelin star. Visited the Highwayman and it was very good. He's a Blackburn fan but no one's perfect! Going back to the OP, hope the hangover isn't too bad DA - I'll be trying to engineer a visit there before too long! [Post edited 10 Jul 2019 9:38]

Yes me and the Mrs had a night over, its certainly a different feel to it and felt much more homely than a "normal" restaurant I found. Another very good stay over place is Ribby Hall too in the spa hotel, the restaurant in there is wasted on such a complex, the food is as good as anywhere I've eaten before, superb value if you do the night stay with use of the spa and evening meal etc, the no kids policy is a winner too | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not too bad at all, thanks, finished supping by 8pm so plenty of recovery time Drunk one of the pumps dry - Hood best bitter, Lincoln Green brewery in Nottingham, superb! In the area for a few days so we'll be back at the beer hall. Fantastic food hall next door too

Drink it dry on 11:29 - Jul 10 with 2389 views | EllDale | Sadly I have to report that Three Fishes at Mitton seems to have closed. It was all blocked off when we drove past there the other day. Also worth a look is the Aspinall Arms on the road out towards Salmesbury. A bit further afield is the Highwayman at Carnforth which is excellent in all respects. And I agree about Waddington. It was once voted as "Lancashire's Prettiest Village" and there is a belting boozer at crossroads whose name escapes me!
Drink it dry on 11:32 - Jul 10 with 2382 views | joecooke | Equally random. Wondered if anyone had tried The Hinchliffe arms at Hebden Bridge. The chef is Rob owen brown who used to be at The Mark Addy in Manchester and where i had the best rag pudding ive ever tasted since way back.

Yes, but it's Mytholmroyd, lovely spot on a summer's day Re: Waddington (Elldale), the Waddington Arms? There's also the Higher Buck & Lower Buck

Yes, on the main street just below the castle tbh, you're spoilt for choice. I haven't mentioned the brilliant chippy yet! Could do with Clitheroe Town getting through to a cup tie with Dale

Why was it full of Derby fans?
| When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf? |

When you go to Northcote have a look at the drinks menu, its a bit special, you'll get your hat nailed on for the privilege but well worth it for a treat
