Manager update 20:40 - Jun 3 with 26134 viewsHeadmaster

Toshack, Poyet, and Appleton included in a 6-man shortlist that is yet to be finalised. Mellon and Flynn are out. Henry and Kollner unlikely.

An uninspiring list to say the least. Preferences?

Was he? I can’t remember that.

Can't find the article now but it was definitely said by either Huw or Brendan.

Quick search on Twitter and saw this from 2011

Brendan Rodgers was 4th choice manager for the Swans - but it's hard to see any other manager being able to achieve what he did.

Poll: Can Montero do it on a rainy Saturday afternoon?

I think that’s always been a bit of a myth to be honest.

Of those being mentioned I'm all for Appleton. Early managerial stints went poorly under difficult circumstances but did well at Oxford playing an attacking game.

Yes, either him or the German guy. I'm just praying it's not going to be Poyet, might be wrong, however I think he'll be a disaster.

Glad there are still people with sense on here. I think he did brilliantly at Oxford - good pair of hands. Any Oxford fan will tell you they were lucky to have him.

Kollner would be my second choice as well.

Sounds like Slavan Bilic will be announced there soon.

Somebody clearly thinks they've heard something as Bowen has gone odds on - hopefully they've got it wrong!

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Not a lot to say really is there. At least Leon Knight would give us some excitement and might even let us know exactly what everyone thinks of the Yanks.

I'd never heard of him, but having done a few searches this is potentially reassuring. It seems like there's some genuine thought going into this process. Whether they make the right decision only time will tell. But at least they seem to be looking at options other than those on the same old boring manager merry go round.

Would be a bizarre appointment in my opinion. Surely Stuivenberg is the better of the two? At least he has some first-team managerial experience. Cooper's only been a youth coach.

Also, I refuse to believe Leon and Curt would let Bowen become our next manager.

Do people forget that Brendan was our 4th choice when he got the job?

He was the 16th name mentioned.
Four turned it down before him.

OK I've changed it.

Didn’t chancer Jenkins later build the myth that it was part of a succession of genius appointments by him.

😆
