It's very obvious he's got an issue with foreign players.
- He took against Sylla right from the start.
- Banged on about Sylla & Yenni's English when everyone knows in this day and age in football it's not the most important thing
- He also seemed to be genuinely surprised Wszolek was good - like he had presumed a foreign player couldn't be good. Kept mentioning how amazing it was that he could come in and have good relationship with a bloke from Poland. Now he's dropped him.
- He binned off Polter
- He binned off Chery
- Both Chery and Polter seemed eager to leave after about a month under Ollie too. Coincidence?
- He binned off Borsyiuk
In fact there isn't a single player in the team who doesn't speak English as a first language. Very unusual in today's football.
Gino Padula was the closest thing we had to foreign player last time round he took and age to give him ago despite that face he was playing well in the reserves. Also Gino had been at Walsall.

There was a podcast before Holloway took over and Bircham was on it (from a fan perspective). If I recall, he spoke about foreign players as being a problem (language, culture etc). The conversation was probably in light of the Boswinga's and Fer's of this world, but then when they took over a short time later i think some of the foreign players on our books may have found themselves at an instant disadvantage. Hopefully not true because it kind of restricts our market place somewhat! |  |

Poulter clearly stated he couldn't settle in London and went on a bit of a goal rampage within a very short time of being back in Germany.
Sylla had several starts through Christmas and NY and failed.
Chery was on his way out before Ollie turned up.
I'm right off Ollie these days but I don't think he has a problem with foreign players. Better to hold him to account on real deficiencies such as his attrocious win rate, rather than imagined ones.

Yeh he did. I didn't like it at the time, and I liked it even less when he subsequently got a job back here.

No he didn't, no he didn't and yes it is. Polter had a personal issue which never came out publicly and had to go back to Germany, Chery nearly went to Tel Aviv the January before for a big money deal and then got offered a REALLY big money deal in China and wanted to go - over active agent. Rather than having a problem with overseas players I think it’s that British players are more likely to reapond well to his style of management and Bircham’s coaching. That is not just an issue at QPR but at every club- look at Everyon, spent loads on Davy Klaessen from Ajax who is a neat player but now are trying to offload him as he is pointless under BFS
no point signing or paying technical players from overseas if the plan is to bang it up to Matt Smith | | | |

It's not him not liking foreign players- it's just they can't understand his accent and on top of that he explains everything using analogies and stories and they probably stand out on the training pitch looking at each other and shrugging their shoulders and not having a clue what the fooke he is on about. It would also explain Manning and yer man Smythe.
We have the same situation with the Cork wife around the dinner table every night.
