Let's face facts here.
We're quite poor at the minute, but defensively on the whole well regimented so we don't get hammered.
This gives us a false impression that the games are close when they aren't. We have no invention, we rarely have a decent cross in and all our goals are from the opposition errors.

The amount of our attacks that break down with Naughton is anoying, especially as we dont get many.
Oh, and another thing, that little chip ball out from the back FF/Mawson play towards the corner flag that always goes out for a GK/throw because the pitches are too fast, can we stop that please? We just give the ball away.
Other than that, Clucas set piece is ok. There were small signs of some intricate play going forward, but tbh, we just dont have enough of the ball to become any good at it.

Well that's Clement on 8 points from 10 games. If he hits Bradley's record of 8 from 11 when we play Brighton, what would be the justification for not sacking him?
Edit: And we're currently down to 17th. If Everton get a point from their game with Leicester we're in the relegation zone. Whether we concede 1, 2 or 5, the end result is that we're still losing almost every game. [Post edited 28 Oct 2017 17:12]

Yep.
Although large parts of the second half were poor because having been rattled by two quick goals, our back line lost confidence and starting bypassing our midfield, so we lost the ball as quickly as we had it.
Carroll is weak in midfield I think. Would like to see that formation but with Mesa in for Carroll and Naughton is not a strong right wing back. Clucas was ok on the left in that position although it'll take time.
Naughton gets pelters , but it's not his fault - he shouldn't be our starting right back. We also need a more creative player instead of Ayew. So pretty much the weaknesses everyone identified during the window apart from our esteemed head of transfers, who was presumably too traumatised by having to provide due diligence for a sale he never wanted (thanks to xmas tree for that insight). | | | |
