Brexit .... My thoughts... 11:07 - Jun 16 with 162105 viewsJacksDad

The one thing I am certain of re this vote is that no-one knows for sure what the repercussions economically will be if we pull out. If you listen to the experts it will be better if we stay in, however its all unconvincing. My issue is that after 10 years of Austerity, the services in this country have been cut to the bone, that is services that are needed by us all - not just Immigrants/benefit spongers. We are not in a position to afford the enormous gamble if it all goes t1ts up. I am taking my lead from Ray Winston and gambling responsibly and staying in. If we ever get to situation when everything is adequately funded and horrible 0 hours contracts were abolished ... then maybe it might be worth the risk to pull out. But to do it now is a massive gamble which we just cannot afford to lose.

Watching the BBC here. Fascinating, looking good for LEAVE here. I hope they can do it.

The YEN has absolutely soared against the poor old pound. Unbelievable drop for the pound.

I think all currencies will gain on the pound, but as someone has already stated, it will eventually return to normal. Now is the time to buy up GBPs if you are thinking of heading to UK from elsewhere. For those in the UK, it ain't looking good.

An exchange on BBC earler tonight:-

Alastair Campbell: At the risk of sounding arrogant, this was a bad idea to put this to a referendum
Younger BBC head: That DOES sound arrogant

I agree with Boston - this is what referenda are for.

To put a monumental decision that will have huge and far reaching consequences for this country and potentially the world in the hands of a largely uninformed electorate. Absolute insanity.

Wow. Looking like UK might just be England and Wales somewhen in the future.

Hopefully the weight of economic experts were all wrong!

Now imagine what will happen if the final result is leave. Britain will be in a calamitous recession overnight and you can all forget your foreign holidays for quite a while!

Really? You're going to make light of that intentionally offensive and malicious statement referring to a woman shot dead not more than a week ago? The mindless spite of Brexit...

How the feck is this a good thing, the economy will go to the dogs, people will lose their jobs.
All because there were too many poles.

It's probably the worst thing to happen this country since World War II.

Mate

I am pro-Europe and pro-immigration but I just think the EU as an institution is busted.

This is a good thing for Europe IMO.

I'm really stunned. So where does that leave people that now work in France for example? Surely they will lose their right to work there?

I agree the bureaucrats in Europe have a lot to blame,
but we live in country, with an unelected second chamber and a Monarch as had of state (which I personally don't have a problem with) so we can't say this is because we want greater democracy
This is because people don't like immigration, I live in Newham and can understand the locals not being happy with so much change
But the economy has been on a knife edge for years, and because millionaire Boris (who wants a new job) & Nigel (& Immigrant wife) have created a campaign of hate.
We're created a situation where people could start losing their jobs and struggle to pay their bills over the next few years

I actually do have a problem with the ‘Royalty’. Was Oliver Cromwell not an a passionate Englishman?
