Excellent, really pleased with this signing. I have always rated Perch, he's not the most glamorous of players so get's an unfair reputation as someone that's not very good, but you'd struggle to find a fan of the clubs he's played for with a bad word to say about him. I liked him at Newcastle and he's always played consitently well for Wigan. It helps he plays in about 4 positions too, which is lucky as he will have to cover them all as things stand! Good signing, good fee.

Good, solid signing

Happy with that!

Another 3 or 4 like this and i'll be a lot more confident about survival.

So next's week defence gets a little bot stronger:

Furlong Onohua Hill Perch

If Les can sort out a right back in the week that would be great....

Should do well here. Very much in the Danny Simpson mould - solid and unspectacular, just quietly comfortable.

Nice 1,a versatile defensive /midfield player but we need him in defence unless we sign at least 2 more defenders.
Wondering if we are going to loan 1or2 young players from Prem ?.

Very pleased with this.
However, I hate that Rangers shirt the more I see it!

...or a left back (probably on loan); Perch is better on the right.

Two Centre Backs too please.

Can we go out yet?

perfunctory 30 year old tradesman . His bent, as it were, is being a right back

a famous linguist once said that of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, that "james perch " is the most beautiful.

Ah yes, but is he as versatile as an egg?

Always a good sign when a player has won player of the year twice in a row at a club. Fans know better than anyone who their most effective players are. We were all busy voting Willo POTY more than once while the rest of the country were apparently unaware how fkn good he was.
Pleased.

Bare bones.

Wearing no 24 shirt, so no2 still vacant. Signal of another signing soon?

don't rate him
poor at Newcastle , average at Wigan from what ive seen he isn't a RB either ,
pretty much a younger version of Aaron Hughes

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

You really think he's worse than Furlong at right back?

And can't do a solid job at centre back when Onouha is inevitably injured or Hill needs a rest?

And can't do a better job at left back than...oh no wait all our left backs are injured.

I don't really see how he could have been average at Wigan and still manage to win a fans vote naming him the best player in the club, twice.

Also, what would be wrong with a younger version of Aaron Hughes? Hughes was a really good player! If we were signing a 29 year old Hughes at this stage I would be quite pleased.
