Picture a Poster on 23:10 - Sep 6 by _ | Just curious here... Have you watched us home and away throughout? When I say throughout I mean, your teenage through adult life? |
Yes I have. I first went in 1975. Had a season ticket from 1976 until 1989 and went to many away games each season. Moved away in 1989 and unfortunately my work is shift based and I work most weekends so I only get to a small number of games each year.

BTP wearing their uniforms designed for their protection, if there was to be a riot. Pedantic Perchy!
| Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year. | Poll: | What is your favourite Knock? |

So just curious again.. You moved away in your twenties and then because of shift work games became limited?

I ran a unit that was the first to attend "disorder" as we were the best equipped and trained. Problem was the number of complaints received . Fans were treated like shite though and hills borough changed it all. Only good thing about it. Police had a lot to answer for but times were different and it was almost revolutionary.

Do you regret how you treated people when you were police?

Picture a Poster on 23:06 - Sep 6 by Witneyjack | Fair enough. I'd like to think that we have lost that element. We don't want to go back to the ugly scenes of the 70's and 80's when real fans were put off by the thugs who claimed to be supporters! |
They'll always be around. In my experience they tend to keep themselves to themselves, arrange handbags with other crews, go to the bar for a few impressionable youngsters and wait for the 5-O to scoop them up and send them on their way. I've been to Millwall and have friends there, no problem. You can frequently see our lot giving it large on Neath Road when the supporters buses pass. It's just the way it is.

Picture a Poster on 23:30 - Sep 6 with 1566 views | perchrockjack | Dealt with so many dichesd crews in mid 80s most of which froze to death in Liverpool mainly because scousers tend not to turn the other cheek and police were just as bad. Not proud times , fans were often asking to be sacked and terrified kids and women in communities

Just wondered. I moved abroad a few years and only saw the Swans on returns hone so know what it's like. But I will say, after you moved way and during our dark days, sometimes it was only the more colourful characters that did go home and away. Of course that's not an exclusive list, we've always had our diehard support but relatively speaking so.

Off topic now but unfortunately Liverpool is the worst I've been to on match day. I like the city but the locations of both grounds and Stanley Park is a shit hole and a war zone on a Saturday afternoon.

Only in Liverpool eh... How crazy you just happened to be there. Scousers don't turn the other cheek? No idea wtf that might mean but they hardly go down in folklore for having heavy mobs.... They did love a Euro trip however to stockpile Italian tracksuit tops.

I've said it before, my grandfather (born in 1891) watched the Swans from when they were first formed. He in turn took my father who then took my brother and I. In my season ticket year's I'm proud to say I didn't get involved in any trouble at any time. I take my dad(still a ST holder) who is now 80 to a couple of away games each season and when I retire in 4 years, a season ticket will be my first purchase.
Picture a Poster on 23:42 - Sep 6 with 1523 views | perchrockjack | You re right but it's getting better as the club has now had the back of kemlyn rd stand cleared form expansion.a field is due a massive clear up and it needs it no question. Luckily visitors are kept well away from it. You can contact me anytime for safe parking and away friendly pubs. Scousers are great unless you act like hard miles in which case it ll end in tears. Everton is another dump..many football area, nope all of them, were built in working class areas.

Unfortunately again that stereo type is true. Swans v Liverpool was an evening game last season and it's just incredible how many people get of the bus in their pyjamas/adidas tracksuits swigging cans of Fosters and Bow after 4 and 1/2 hours and 250 miles of complete incoherent bullshit about f*ck all.

Neglected it is Perch. I've parked by Goodison on match day and walked to Anfield through the back lanes behind the houses and it's criminal what's been allowed to happen there. Some might say it's intentional.

Picture a Poster on 23:52 - Sep 6 with 1500 views | perchrockjack | It's 3hrs45 la and it's not hard miles either. Avoid the fookn motorway and go via a483 never the motorway. If in doubt and used to sartorial elegance then stay well away and don't approach the females as they ll have you

Tell you one thing they do in Liverpool what they don't do in Swansea is try and save places I steed of demolishing them. We stayed in the Hard Days Night Hotel a couple of years ago and that building would have been demolished in Swansea.

I worked in Holland with a few Scouse and I wouldn't have believed it until I saw it with my own eyes. I wasn't friendly with them and bear in mind these were hard core scousers probably from the wrong end of town but they'd be all done up on a Sat night in Lacoste shirt, Timberland boots and TRACKSUIT BOTTOMS. If ever there was a region that backed up and saluted their stereo type it's that lot.

Picture a Poster on 23:56 - Sep 6 with 1489 views | perchrockjack | Park in mark street l5. It's 5mins from Wallasey tunnel and m53 then due south to wales. Thatcher left Liverpool to die as she did to the valleys. I went home once over the heads and made a detour to ebbs vale. Fookn unbelievable. North /wales both shafted so why the anti scousers stuff from people. There is in jersey side though still considerable wealth the like of which cannot be found in South wales

That's a good story and good family line. You are a bit older than I thought you were then when you said you went to your first game in 1975 unless you're retiring much earlier than standard?
