European cities worth visiting 14:42 - Mar 14 with 5537 viewsBluce_Ree

You lot seem well travelled. I need recommendations.

I've been to;

Paris - d*gshit, full of c*nts. Redeemed by the Eiffel Tower but only because it was in Superman II.

Rome - awesome.

Venice - awesome.

Amsterdam - aweshome.

I don't drink. I like seeing landmarks and interesting shit.

What's good?

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Barcelona's good, lots of landmarks, the Parc Guel is mad, Miro Foundacion is great, as is the Picasso Museo, and the women are gorgeous. I fear I am turning into Swiss Tony.

Krakow in Poland (the square in the town centre plus go to the Wawel castle too) followed by a trip to Auschwitz which is an hour or so away.

Dresden. Amazing how they've rebuilt the centre back to it's original baroque buildings. Even the cold war tower blocks on the outskirts have been painted in different colours to stop them looking drab. Colditz only a hour or so away too.

Naples. Well, more for Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Naples itself is a s**thole.

Cologne town centre by the Rhine is nice too. The train station and catherdral next to it is awesome.

Seville.

Great food/sights/cheap to fly to/beautiful weather.

Edit: 3 nights, four at a push would be enough.

Munich and Prague are cracking, but would be even better if you drank. Munich in particular is very pretty and full of culture and history. It deserves to be better celebrated.

Dubrovnik is lovely for a couple of days but it's quite small.

Milan is top draw.

Plenty to do & see. Lots of history.

Not too pricey either if you shop about.

Can thoroughly recommend Prague.

Went in February a couple of years ago and was blinking freezing but still a beautiful place. Lovely walk along the river and the landmarks in the main center are amazing.

Added brilliance if you like a beer but if not its still well worth a trip!

Bar St Petersburg, Yerevan and Tblisi have done most of 'em.

Avoid Moscow, Paris, Athens, Milan isn't all that, and Barcelona is overrated.

Go to Berlin, Prague, Stockholm, Valencia, Lisbon, Tallinn (better than Riga or Vilnius)

If want something a bet leftfield try Sarajevo or Minsk, or just head for Deutschland you really can't go wrong there.

Valencia for me, prefer it to Barcelona, city on the beach as well, plenty to see, from historic to modern day.

Krakow ghetto tours is a must, see Schindlers factory. Not sure about Auschwitz , done the tour of both camps but left wishing I never did them.

Wot, no takers for Florence? Love it me.

Prague and Krakow both deffo - couldn't bring myself to go to Auschwitz, seemed somehow very wrong. Warsaw? naah...

Amsterdam lots of fun

Berlin!! ditto

Liked Bulgaria, Romania and even Albania, but only cos I worked there and had friends...otherwise I wouldn't don't bother with the cities. If you must go to Romania go out to the Carpathians and Transylvania (take some garlic).

Kiev looked interesting but it was snowing, airlines were white knuckle rides and I got arrested for jaywalking .
Vienna too clean and expensive...opulent but a bit sterile. Also Switzerland

Tours to Auswitch or the salt mines. Also a top class reasonable price restaurant next door visited by the famous. Can't remember the name of it though!

Fly to Perugia from Stanstead 07.30 in the morning, you'll get off the plane 2 hours later and be through customs in 20 mins max.
Pick up a car and drive to Italy's most beautiful city Assisi (20 minute drive) you can use the good roads from there to Florence, Venice or Milan to the North or Naples in the South avoiding Rome of course.
Ciao.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

HantsR is on the nail

Florence, beautiful.

As are it's neighbouring cities, Ermintrude, Dougal, Zebedee and Dylan.

Never knowingly right.
