The usual lack of an ability to shoot straight followed by frustrated frantic attacking attempts followed by the inevitable weary capitulation. Was Walcott on the pitch at all I saw his name was mentioned?

One thing for sure you can count on is sooner or later we will shoot ourself in the foot,so good for so long and then we give up a bad goal. We need to sort this out but then again been saying it for 4 seasons now.

Excellent team performance in the first half with everyone playing their part. Not sure what McCarthy was thinking of but I wonder if he thought Bamford was offside. Anyway he didn’t deal with the situation with any conviction and once we started chasing the game we lost our shape. Stephens missed a glorious chance they break and it’s game over. We put the ball away against Palace and Fulham but didn’t take our chances tonight, but to be fair to Leeds they are a better defensive unit and break more effectively. A draw would have been a fair result but this is what happens at this level when you don’t take your chances.

Need to get rid of some deadwood. Players like Redmond, Stephens, Djenepo and McCarthy need to go before next season starts. We already need 2 left-backs and a right-back before we start to get any other new players in.

Knew the game was over when Ralph brings on Redmond. Why oh why. Surely Obafemi should have been given a chance upfront.

Sorry Venmans but why are you naming Stephens and McCarthy to go as those two have been decent enough recently! I mean McCarthy has been pulling off loads of decent saves recently, and if you compare him to Forster, they’re both decent at saves, one doesn’t come out enough (Forster) whilst the other comes out too much (McCarthy), but the major difference is that McCarthy can actually distribute the ball to our own players. And with Stephens, ever since he’s come in to replace Bertrand, he’s been quite decent and has certainly been decent!

Today was just a simple game that we lost down to the players! As what else could Ralph have done, as starting lineup wise, it’s pretty clear that Ings wasn’t fully fit and that Tella can’t last the full 90 minutes at the moment, along with che getting a supposed groin injury. So really what could he have done any differently? We just simply lost as we didn’t have the players performing today and didn’t take our first half chances, as we were all over them in the first half, and even in the second half we were still better than them until they scored which just caused a drop in our play. Today’s loss was just simply due to poor performances up front, as our defence are doing well keeping them out, and a bit in midfield too, which cost us the game today!

We nearly always fall apart in the last half hour of games and it's just a question of how many goals the oppostion will score then. So our only hope of getting a draw would have been to have Ings on in the first half, when we were playing well, to give us a lead. Surely, we can't continue with McCarthy next season. He is just too hesitant and erratic. He must be the only Premier League goalkeeper who lets in goals from such narrow angles when he is at his near post. Top flight goalkeepers should never be beaten there but opposition players know about McCarthy's weakness and capitalise on it.

Same old predictable Saints.
We actually started off really well and had Leeds rattled. For a change it was the opposition who were conceding chances, mis-passing and Bamford didn't get a sniff. However we failed to take those chances and didn't get the HT lead we really deserved.
2nd half Leeds changed it a bit. They took off Head Case Llorente who was on a mission for a red card and waited for Saints to make more mistakes. Our defence just keeps on giving. Not satisfied with Stephens going on his sorties and giving the ball away and being out of position when Leeds countered, not satisfied with Vest misplaced passes gifting breaks, not satisfied with Stephens poor headers at both ends and AMcC not heeding the warning of Bamford running through when he nearly gave away a penalty - everyone stopped as the ball was played over to Bamford. Perhaps they thought it was off side, but you still play on. How McCarthy was beaten (again) at his near post is just a absolute joke. He should have been off his line and grabbing it, or at least narrowing the angle - instead he got nut megged !!
Then the 2nd was a gift too. The defence were slow to get back after a break from our own attack where JS should have scored, McCarthy parried the initial shot, but was so slow to react to the 2nd it was laughable. We had to be in the ground for 5pm, so we saw the Keepers going through their warm up routines of diving one way, getting up quickly and diving the other - why practice, when you can't do it in a match !!

We all too easily allowed them to out-muscle us in the 2nd half. They kicked us a lot and dived even more (Ayling - WTF ?) and yet again and despite the changes from the bench, we got done the same we as we did at Elland Road.

Impressed with the first half, not so much with the second, especially after that strange Bamford goal. I'm still not convinced Bamford was onside when he scored what looked like a goal from child football.
Djenepo had far too few options for taking 1 on 1's on the left wing, and it almost looked like nobody bothered to give him the ball when he was calling for it during our attacks, which I didn't understand. The man can create something. Including penalties. (For us).
We need more muscles in the team, but Armstrong and JWP were playing well as usual. Redmond, whom I usually defend, was useless.
Ralph got the substitutes somewhat wrong. Where was Obafemi?
