We scraped a win & that's all that matters. But so many negatives about the performance. Redmond lucky to last 53 minutes, utter rubbish. Obafemi unfortunately looked out of his depth, his time will come. JWP was dire, but his free kick won the game, so what can you say. Stephens was a liability. zings worked his socks off & deserved his goal. Dlenepo came into the game once Redmond was eventually subbed & he was given more of the ball. A win but still so much to improve on.

Thank god for Danny Ings. The only player for large parts of the game who looked like he wanted to be on the pitch and actually play positive football. Even the so called high press Ralph plays was poor apart from Ings. Without him we would be truly sunk this season.

Of the rest some good saves from McCarthy, no blame for the goal as woefully exposed by the defence. If JWP could kick a moving ball as well as a stationary one he might get some sympathy but his performance aside of the free kick was dreadful. Sadly he wasn’t alone!

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Boufal, them man has been a revelation in the last few games and is now living up to his reputation, he is exciting, gets the crowd going as much as it can St Mary’s and looks like something will happen every time he is on the ball. Danny Ings for captain the man cares about SFC 😇. Wrong game for Obafemi no room for him to run into as Watford sat too deep. What has Adams done wrong??? Still 3 points and finally got that home win so hopefully lost that monkey.

IMPORTANT NOTE to Ralph Hasenhuttl...when we attack we CAN score goals ...and even gain valuable points.
When we defend we can't score goals and it only ends in tears.

Hopeful advice for the rest of the season.

Ward Prowse is becoming a complete enigma, a sublime free kick does not mask a terrible first half from him and yet even in that his cheeky flick was the closest we came to scoring. He is one of only two sources of goals. Do we just have to take the bad with the good?

We have to do full on attack and hope to outscore teams until we get new defenders in. Stephens and Cedric both had largely poor games. Our attack however is the best it has been for a few years. Boufal and Long made a difference when they came on and we focused on attack.

I would make Ings captain as Hojbjerg was again one of our worse players and Ings was again one of our best and gives everything.

This result gives a little hope.....

Looked very nervous early on but grew in confidence as the game went on and well deserved at least a point.

Something to build on.

Congratulations to players, staff and fans. Ralph kept the 4-2-2-2 shape and we looked dangerousn and focused with a good game plan and could actually easily have been 4-0 up when Norwich suddenly scored to 2-1 with 30 minutes left. It then started to become a bit nervy, but we fought for the points - made some intelligent substitutions - and ultimately took the 3 points. Norwich could easily have equalised in injury time to be honest - which would have been a disaster - but fortunately Byrant missed his double chance, the first chance blocked by Yoshida, the second one he missed target. Ings continued his great goal scoring form and after 7 points from 3 games our season has more or less re-started - with top 10 suddenly very much within reaching distance. Let´s hope we keep it going and avoid injuries, and then who knows what we can achieve. I am glad the club stood by Ralph during the storm and it´s good to hear him express thankfulness for the club having kept trust in him and for the crisis learning experience which he has taken something good from. Good to see Bertrand score and now we need other players to start scoring some goals - not least Che Adams - good to see him get some playing time yesterday, and he did well with his energetic display.
All in all a great home win, and with 2 out of 2 we can hope that, once again, St. Mary´s will be a difficult place to come for our opponents. Now, let´s do all we can to beat Newcastle away on saturday. COYS! <3

Enjoyed watching it. Just wish I didn't have to watch the last 20 minutes through my clenched fingers. We never make it easy for ourselves.

Just hope a bit of confidence is starting to embed itself.

COYS!
