Robbed by a dodgy offside decision from a linesman who didn't see that nearly all sunderlands goal kicks were taken from 1ft outside the six yard box.

Tis a good job that Bony didn't leave last summer as without him we seem devoid of goal scoring threat.

Gomis trap a ball further than most can pass it and runs around a lot to little effect.

A dull game very little evidence of our former passing style & swagger.

We are starting to appear very ordinary.

An ugly, late win but a win. Great result in so far as we kept going and showed out mettle. Should give us a boost against the Hammers now and on to Liverpool. A draw would have let the nerves creep in some more. I loved Roko's celebration and that of the bench of the goal!

I thought it was interesting that both Mane and Elia played more throughout the middle. Certainly, Mane seemed to be enjoying this a lot more than on the wing. his confidence seems to be growing. Elia also looks better cutting into the middle as his goals against Newcastle showed. Pelle by contrast looked isolated and not in the game at all. I thought this was the poorest I have seen him for a long time. He seems to be playing much deeper now rather than in the box trying to get on the end of something. His hold up play was poor.

Again, would like to see us do more with set plays. Had a number of them but only Fonte came close.

Great reflex save by Forster. He seems to be a great at reactionary saves rather than crosses or shots..

Overall, generally a poor performance and fortunate to get all 3 points. Need to do better.

I agree with the comments already posted here. Forster's save from Austin was a brilliant reaction. Mane never gave up. His unabated running won us this game but, don't forget Yoshida's defence splitting pass that put him in. All too often our players wanted one touch too many. Dunne could have been sent off for bringing down Elia on the edge of the box but Eljero bounced back up and carried on. Equally, Dunne could have been sent off for kicking Elia when he was on the ground. Pelle looked a man who had played one game too many. Davis is currently not at his best and once again displayed some woeful shooting. The mystery to me is JWP. Apart from his crossing ability he isn't as good as he was last season. All in all this was a lacklustre performance against a slow and elderly team and we'll have to play better in our next two matches. When QPR go down we really should consider a bid for Charlie Austin.

Is it time that we play without Pelle and Tadic? Mane and Elia pose a real threat thru the middle. Pelle played quite deep and did his best in that position but he is not a midfield provider to M and E, possibly when Toby is fit that is where he should play and keep Gardos as CB

I didn't think it was a poor match or perfoformance, there was lots of end to end moves and it was quite an open game. Maybe we didn't deserve the three points but that's football.

Good to see that performance of VW, MS a little way to go before on top form, picking up too many yellow cards recently.

Battling performance but got edged out by a good goal by the ever dangerous Mane. Good shifts from Barton and Dunne were the highlights but we seems to let it slip late on Could have got an equaliser but it was not to be
Rs have the basis of a good team but too many sloppy passes and crosses have cost us
Good to see different personel in the team though Phillips crossing was poor while Adel was skilful without any end result
Zarate looked dangerous

Good display by most of our players, thought Green,Barton and Fer were very good,Green with some unbelievable saves gets my vote for mom.
Thought Isla was a liability in the first half, missed passes and seemed uncomfortable. Yun also seemed a bit rusty. Rio had a good game. Actually think SWP had an ok game dispite his first cross hitting Isla in the head, worked hard and showed some effort in going forwards.

Agree with all that supertk says - I like Isla but he has a tendency to play suicidal passes in our half of the pitch and play us into trouble. I mentioned to Clive on the way out after the game that giving Green MOM ( which he deserves) might make people think that this was a smash & grab raid, which it most certainly wasn't . We were on the front foot from the 1st minute and outplayed them. What a difference when the team has a game plan, tactics and the players know their individual responsibilities . Shame it took 13 games to find out such basic requirements. A win away, a win away........

The lack of JayRod and Shane Long is beginning to tell now. Graziano was always going to have a drop in form at some point and injuries have meant we haven't been able to give him the rest that it looks like he needs. Hopefully the 10 days he has got now will help?!
