It Is Just A Shirt Number

So Wilfried Bony is back from Manchester City and a welcome addition back to our squad but I have to say that today's amusement has been all about his shirt number and just how much people can get annoyed over the simple things.

Take the tweet below for an example

And it isn't an unique tweet or comment where people are getting wound up by what number Wilf will wear during his second spell at the club.

After the madness that said Renato Sanches could not wear the 85 shirt we had this yesterday

What it did highlight though was just how much football has gone wrong when this is what people want to moan about. Frankly I couldn't really care whether Bony wears number 2, 9 or displays his phone number so long as he is scoring goals again for the Swans.

And Bony himself clearly doesn't care as he explained: “The fans were very good to me, and I can’t wait to be back with them again,

“I always watched the Swansea news all the time on the internet and the games they played. The club was always a part of me.

“We had some enjoyable moments together — now those moments are happening again.”

So come on Wilfried Bony....

Why would anyone object to a player having number 2 on his shirt? I would suppose the objection is all in the mind of the objector! .........Perhaps Bony chose number two.....because it his second time to play for the Swans.......Second chance to be a Jack...although....once a Jack always a Jack...maybe it's more of a humble option ......second chance to be a top PL scorer......in which case he could have chosen number 1.

I don't care what number any of our players wear but I have to admit there were occasions last season when I was a bit shocked for a couple of seconds to see our #3 in our opponents box before realising it was Jordan Ayew. After watching football for 6 decades, some things become ingrained but glad to see him wearing #18 this season.
