| Forum Reply | Was Prestons goal totally against the morals of the game at 19:51 21 Dec 2024
The simple answer is no. It's for the ref to decide whether or not to stop play. That said, I'm sure we can each think of a different occasion where a PNE player has successfully defended an attack by going down and feigning an injury. Perhaps that's what made you wonder. |

For a thread titled Baroque and Classical there are a lot of Romantic and 20th Century composers mentioned! For me it has to be JSB for Baroque and Haydn for Classical. |

If accounts of people who insist they remember their past lives are anything to go on, only incredibly famous historical figures get reincarnated. |

I just hope that Icelandic chap we were rumoured to be in for but ended up signing for PNE at the last minute plays and is unmistakably outclassed by the players we ended up signing instead. |

We've won on TV, we've won on Friday and we've won at home. For our next trick we will win a 12:30 kickoff. Fingers crossed it will be this one. |

I wonder how much they're paying Phillips to do sod all except when he receives the ball, and little more than that when he does. |

Ref wasn't great. Wasn't terrible either, but we've certainly had better. Linos on the other hand, wow. No complaints at all. Can't remember the last time I've been able to say that. Norwich's players were definitely childish. I thought their fns showed much more maturity. I was also convinced Borja Sainz would talk himself into a red card. Instead he talked himself into a poor performance at least. |

I'm not convinced that had we 3 league games instead this week, and the same injury situation, we wouldn't have made similar changes tonight. And even if we had played with the same lineup twice, there would have been an even bigger number of changes for the weekend game, not counting any forced by injuries or suspensions occuring in the midweek game. |

Our changes were forced by injury. We didn't even have the option to give Cook and JCS half each half of each of these games. Cook's going to have to play 270 minutes this week. We were not just resting players for the sake of it. Fact is we were trying to win the game. We will also try to beat Millwall and hope that we have enough players fit and full of energy for it. I enjoyed what I saw tonight. Take Eze out of that Palace side and we might have had a decent chance. Put either one of JCS and Chair in for us and we definitely would. Even as it was we were a lucky deflection for Eze and a very close late miss from Lloyd away from a much better result. As for Celar, he worked hard, linked up with the midfielders, used his strength, and up against a Euro 24 finalist among a very solid Palace back line. I have no complaints at all. I'll take this over losing to Keith Stroud any day. Before the game when I saw the teams I was expecting us to get hammered. |
